Fee Structure at GITAM University, Visakhapatnam: Scholarships and More

My overall experience at the university is very good. There are many factors that made me to choose the university. One of it is career growth, exposure to different domains, and the teaching faculty. GITAM provides vast number of opportunities for students, mainly in the placement season. Most of the students of our batch were placed in top MNCs. GITAM infrastructure is good when compared to other universities.

The course I chose was Computer Science & Engineering. The motive to choose is that it is trending technology in the current market. Entry requirements are it conducts admission test based on intermediate concepts and all the questions are in MCQ's format. Eligibility criteria is every student must secure above 60% of marks in 10th and 12th. Admission process is submitting an application regarding the exam, then qualifying the exam and paying the minimum deposit to book the seat. Frequency of the exams are for every semester there will be 3 mid exams.mid exams will be conducted twice in a day. Semester exams will be conducted once in a day. Academics prepare us well for the real life challenges. It conduct viva, group discussion to face real world challenges.

The fee of CSE is Rs. 3,00,000 per year. We will get fee concession if we score well in entrance exam and semester exams. I paid Rs. 1,50,000 for first year. In addition, from second year onwards I paid is Rs. 3,00,000 per year, as I do not get 8 CGPA at end of first year. Admission and registration fee is included in the tuition fee. No special discounts will be provided to special category students. Scholarships will be provided based on the entrance exam marks.

The faculty members are well trained. They have done PhDs in their respective fields. The background of the faculty members is they have minimum 10 years of experience in teaching. The method of teaching is like most of the time with PPTs and sometimes with blackboards (if the problem is practical). Faculty conducts group discussion for students to improve communication skills. The problem solving ability of the faculty is very good. My experience and bonding with them is very good and well designed. They approach in very insightful way to solve the student problems.

The placement cell provides good number of placements to the students. However, if the student has backlogs, it is not eligible for the placements. The placement cell conducts exam for the students to get relevant to the original exam conducted by the companies. The placement cell conducts placement training for the students. Therefore, that it get relevant experience in the concepts. Renowned companies visited to my university are IBM, Accenture, TCS, Deloitte, and Tiger Analytics. Package offered by the recruiters are 6 to 7 LPA. The highest package offered was 12 LPA. The average package offered was 6 LPA.

Yes, the university offers residential facilities. Total number of rooms it provided is depends on building block. However, in every block we have around 100 to 150 rooms. Number of students are 3000 to 4000. The facilities it provides are drinking water, Wi-Fi, washing machine, one table, and one chair. Yes, the girl’s and boy’s hostels are separate. Regarding to the mess food, quality of the mess food is good and better when compared to other universities. It provides the food 4 times in a day including snacks. Regarding the hostel fee, the annual fee is Rs. 1,40,000 and there is no monthly fee. We can pay the fee in every 6 months. There are no timings for hostel we can come and go any time. Hostel rules are very relevant and moderate. I stayed in the hostel. My personal experience in the hostel is good and better.

There are 5 academic blocks in the campus. Each block is for different departments. Campus infrastructure is very good and far better than nearby universities. Campus size is big and the locality is at Rushikonda, Visakhapatnam. The seating capacity is big and the room sizes are very big. We can easily fit 50 to 60 students in the classroom. Academic facilities are available in the campus like library, labs, seminar hall, auditorium, and conference. The facilities that university provides are very good and better when compared to other universities. There are 4 canteens in the university. University also has sports, medical, transport, and security facility. My favorite place as a part of university infrastructure is at near Gandhi statue. It is a park with water sprinklers. The facilities with the infrastructure are well designed.

My overall campus life is good and excellent. The university crowd is high. Yes, there are many clubs in the university. The management conducts the clubs every month. Yes, I am the part of GDSC (Google developer student club). There are many extracurricular activities organized in the university. Annual fests are there in the university. Annual events are conducted in the university. My experience about the campus life is good and excellent.
