Chitkara Institute Patiala: Sports, Academics, and More

The institute life is quite good enough. The placements activities especially make this institute stand out among other institutes which are the reason why I chose this institute over other. Extracurricular activities take place every often now and then, the infrastructure is also good. I was mostly involved in the football culture of the institute as I have won various Intra as well as Inter institute tournaments throughout my course and still continue to play football.

The course that I chose was Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering, the eligibility criteria for it was minimum 60% in class 12th and the admission process is fair and smooth. The frequency of exams vary from every week which consists of FAs and after two weeks STs and at the end of the semester, the End term examinations are being conducted and giving each and every exam is compulsory to refrain yourself from detaining. The academics prepare you well enough for real-life challenges as faculty ensures that each and every student is given handsome amount of opportunities and help them improve in every aspect of their academics and personality.

The fees structure at Chitkara Institute of Engineering and Technology is semester wise and for the batch of Bachelors of Engineering of Computer Science and Engineering 2021 the academic fees is Rs. 82,000 per semester which remains same throughout the 4 years and additional one time Rs. 10,000 as admission fees was taken and rest tuition fees and any other charges are being covered in the semester fees already. Scholarships and financial aid is also available for the required students.

The faculty that is being hired in the institute to teach the students is well educated and qualified to make them study. They have a good amount of experiences in teaching and in their respective professional fields. Their problem solving skills is also very good, and their doubt-solving approach is also feasible which makes students to reach out to them without any hesitation and their method is flexible which includes projectors, PPTs, Group Discussions and other practical methods of teaching.

The placement cell at Chitkara Institute of Engineering and Technology has been named as the "Career Advancement Cell" which is finest at its job. It's quite helpful to the students who opt for the placement in campus and students are eligible in 5th semester to apply for the placement related activities in the campus. Renowned companies like Lenovo, Samsung, Flipkart, Swiggy, Zomato, Nykaa, HCL, Decathlon, Tech Mahindra, Capgemini, Siemens, etc. are the recruiters here. Different packages have been offered and the average package is of INR 5-7 LPA.

The academic blocks and structure is very well maintained and beautifully built at Chitkara Institute of Engineering and Technology. The campus area is around 50-55 acres of land and locality is around a town named Rajpura. The classrooms are well equipped with comfortable seating’s, curtains, centralised air conditioners, white boards and projectors. Academic facilities like Library, Seminar halls, one big Auditorium with 900 seating’s, Conference halls in each and every respective departments. Various eating outlets like Subway, Barista, Dominos, Keventeers, Venky's are also inside the campus. Medical dispensary, eye checkup, and physiotherapy center is also present in the campus. Sports facilities for Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Roller Hockey, Badminton, Snooker and pool, Table Tennis, Carrom, Chess, Foosball, etc. is also present.

Campus culture is decent enough providing different types of clubs being present in the institute where one can enroll and participate into various social activities according to their interests. DJ nights, stand ups, flash mobs, jamming sessions, stalls take place often now and then almost every month. Annual cultural fest Rangrezz is the main event of the institute. My experience about the campus life was one of roller coaster ride with lots of fun and hanging around with my batchmates and hostel mates.
