The overall experience at IIT Jodhpur has been amazing for me. The campus is huge and beautiful. The student body here is very active and performs many different activities in a variety of fields, So you are very likely to be interested in at least one of the clubs here. It has a very unique culture of interaction with other students, and you have ample opportunities to show your skill/talent, in both academic and non-academic prospects.

Entry Requirements & Eligibility - Being a 2nd Generation IIT, it takes admission for the B.Tech Program only through JEE Advanced. JoSSA conducts the counseling process. You need to qualify JEE Advanced and must have passed the 12th grade (or an equivalent exam). The applicants must score in the top 20 percentile in their category on the qualifying exam. B.Tech Program with any of the branches is a 4-year Program. First-year courses are taught to all the branches, and then branch-specific courses are taught from the second year.

You have a chance for a branch change after the first year based on your CGPA of 1st year. There are "Program Compulsory" courses for each branch completed in the 2nd & 3rd years. Program Electives (Elective courses offered by the branch department) & Open Electives (Elective Courses offered by other departments i.e. not the branch department of the student) are provided in the 3rd & 4th years. Motive - This program offers skills and knowledge of Engineering in various fields. During the course, you are taught various engineering tactics. Using the knowledge gained during the courses, students also explore many other fields apart from their branches and develop multidisciplinary skills. They often take Industrial Internships/Research Internships in their 3rd year in these fields. After the program is complete they may choose to pursue their careers in industry or may go for higher studies/research work.

Faculty Members at IIT Jodhpur are all very well qualified and are active in research in a vivid variety of fields. They are very helpful and teach in a very good manner. They use smart teaching methods such as PPTs and projectors, but also provide very good board work. They also provide necessary study materials, books & video links for better understanding. You can also do research projects under the supervision of a professor, right in the B.Tech itself. These research projects are very good for getting experience in your desired field. The only thing you may dislike is that some professors don’t give very good grades in their courses, though there is also interference from the grade moderation committee but most of it depends on the professor.

Yes, IIT Jodhpur has a placement cell named as Career Development Cell (CDC). It is responsible for all the on-campus internships/placements. It invites companies on campus and arranges for resources for offline interviews and accommodation for the hiring team.

It also informs us about the off-campus opportunities. Everything related to internships and placements are regulated by the CDC.

Yes, we have a hostel facility for students. It is compulsory for B.Tech. students to reside in the hostels. Hostels at IIT Jodhpur are beautiful infrastructure-wise, they have a very good design and are paved with Jodhpur sandstones. Each hostel at IITJ has a capacity of around 240 students. These hostels are non-coed with the entry of the opposite gender allowed only to a common area. There are two washrooms with 5 toilets and 5 bathrooms on each side, on every floor. There is a grass lawn and a cemented lawn, The cemented lawn is used for badminton. There is a gym, TV Room, Table Tennis Room and a Reading room in every hostel. There is also a common room, for storage and student activities. Each hostel is given sports equipment for Cricket, TT, and Badminton.

The infrastructure of IIT Jodhpur is one of the most amazing and unique among many Indian colleges. The campus is spread across 852 acres outside Jodhpur city at NH 62 Nagaur Highway. The campus plan of IIT Jodhpur was awarded a 5-star rating by the Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment (GRIHA) council. It has an Admin Block situated right in front of the main gate, followed by the Library and the Clock Tower.

The lecture Hall Complex is beside the Hostels. The Dining Hall and laundry are near the hostels. The Residential area is surrounded by walls to avoid sandstorms. The Department buildings are within a walking distance from the hostels. The campus also has a Primary Health Centre in association with Goyal Hospital. For more severe and advanced healthcare, it is also associated with AIIMS Jodhpur. The campus is rich in flora and fauna, faith beautiful skies and views. There are some very good hanging spots such as - The Knowledge Tree, Shaamiyana (Cafes), Clock Tower, Director's Garden, etc.

Campus life is always the best part of any college life, so it is at IIT Jodhpur. Students from all over the country come here and you get to learn a lot from them. You make friends belonging to different backgrounds. Interaction is motivated the most within the student body at IITJ, be it with seniors, juniors, UG-PG students or even with professors.

There are a variety of clubs at IITJ that makes these interactions possible.

These clubs perform activities such as singing, dancing, photography, literature, Coding, rotary activities etc.

For fresher, the SWC (Student Wellbeing Committee) provides guidance and helps to thrive in their first year. The fests at IIT Jodhpur are the most awaited and awesome experiences. These fests are organized by the student body so you have a chance to become an organizer and learn skills such as marketing and resource management. There are Volunteers, Assistant Heads, Heads of different verticals and Festival Chiefs of a fest.

If not an organiser, you can surely participate in them as there are a variety of formal and informal activities in a fest.
