My Life at BHU Varanasi: The Dream Choice for Students

Overall Rating
Banaras Hindu University is known as the Asia’s largest residential university. There is Vishwanath temple inside the campus which makes it stand out when compared to all other universities in India. Many travellers also visit the campus for this temple. The infrastructure and academic facilities are also excellent.
 

Academics Rating
I opted for the Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc) in Computer Applications program. Students have to qualify the CUET UG exams to get admission in this course. You can get counselling for BHU on the basis of your CUET exam. The overall academic experience is very impressive because this course contains a balance of theory and practical learning. There are 2 mid-semester exams of the 30 marks each and 1 semester exam of 70 marks which is theory based.
The semester wise fee structure for my course is Rs. 1,976 regular fees, Rs. 2,600 special course fees, and Rs. 5,000 one-time fees for the university enrolment. Students can apply for the state and private scholarships such as the UP government scholarship schemes.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members are very talented and highly educated as many have obtained PhD in their field. The mode of teaching at the university is PPT and white board. The teachers conduct group discussion, give practical assignments, and assist students in their placement preparation. The bonding between the teachers and students is great as they consider students as their family members.
 

Placement Rating
Banaras Hindu University has a Placement Cell which helps students in their placement preparation. Last year 2 students were placed with the package of 3.5 LPA. Leading companies visit the campus such as Accenture, Swiggy, Zomato, and many more. The placement experience could be improved.
 

Hostel Rating
The university has a number of hostels for different streams such as Science, Humanities, Commerce, etc. Each stream has 2-3 hostels. The hostel facilities are separately available for girls and boys. All the hostels have their own mess, canteens, playgrounds which are properly maintained. The hostel fee for one semester is around Rs. 3,200 which does not include mess charges. The hostels are closed after the 10 PM. Overall, my hostel experience is very good.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus of this university is big. Each faculty has separate classrooms, auditorium, library, sports ground, and labs. The university bus runs inside the campus free of cost for the students. We also have a huge central library one is central library where we can access millions of books and a cyber library where we can access computers with AC facility. The campus also has free Wi-Fi and a health centre where students can access free medical facilities.
 

Campus Rating
My campus life is very good. There are many clubs active in the campus such as Cinephile Film Society and Echoview Society. Students can take part in various events and fest organized at the university like ‘Spandan’ and ‘Kashiyatra’. Spandan is conducted by all the faculties who participate and enjoy the fest.

    BHU Varanasi is a very reputed University with good ranking and has a very good environment. There are a lot of facilities available for students such as free bus services, free health check up and even free medicines for students at health centres by using their health card.   • BHU Varanasi Central Library is Called 'Sayaji Rao Gaekwad Library'

    I am from Banaras, so choosing Banaras Hindu University Varanasi came out as a great option for me. All the things here fascinate me like the green and the peaceful environment. Moreover, the central library here is 24/7 open and has numbers of books. Students come here from all over India and some from even different countries like Nepal and Bangladesh.     One of the factors that made me choose BHU Varanasi is its well-known central library, which provides lots of books as well as high seating capacity for the students to study.
