Student Life at IISU Jaipur: Clubs, Societies, and More

The IIS University, Jaipur is a girls university with zero ragging, which allows a safe and fear free environment, making it a first choice for the students. I enrolled in B.Sc a three year degree course. Here students can choose a combination of three core subjects rather than following the conventional combinations of Arts and Sciences. Faculty here is experienced and has a practical approach. There are different clubs and societies like drama, dance, and debate.

For enrollment, the required documents are passport size photographs, class 12th mark sheet, Aadhar Card, and tenth mark sheet. There is no major eligibility criterion. Admission process is a little chaotic. There are two internal exams and one final exam every six months, score combination of all these makes the final result. Academics here prepare students for real life struggles as well.

Per semester fee is around Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 40,000. Scholarships are given to students, who perform really well in academics.

The faculty members are well experienced and have a practical approach in teaching. There is a hierarchy of faculty members Like HOD, senior professors, professors, and assistant professors. Teaching method is a combination of blackboards, PPTs, educational visits, and group discussions. All professors are approachable and kind. The student teacher ratio differs in different departments.

Yes, the university has a placement cell. But students themselves need to visit the placement cell if they want any information about placements. Some companies like Genpect, visit the university for walk-in-interviews. Overall, placement cell needs improvement.

Yes, the university offers hostel facilities. Hostel admission is also done on the merit basis due to its limited capacity. The food provided in hostel mess is hygienic, nutritious, and fresh. The hostel fee is around Rs. 1,00,000 for an year. Hostel has strict rules for security of students. The gates of hostel, closes by 6 PM in the evening and to avail the outings, students need permission from parents first. Every entry and exit is recorded in the register.

The infrastructure of the university is average with students. The size of the campus is compact and confined. The corridors are always busy and noisy the stairs are always occupied with students, As per the opinion of few students, it is little chaotic to move from one department to other. There is one common room to sit in the free time. There is one basketball court which is always busy either for a match or for any other event. The transport facility is very good and safe; there are buses for every part of Jaipur. There are 3 canteens with good quality of snacks and food choices. My favorite part of university was the bridge connecting two departments.

I would say, it was a bitter sweet experience. I was a part of NSS, where I volunteered for mentally and physically challenged children. I had my fair share of good memories and wins at the competitions. I met some incredible people and my university has given me friends for life, who are now present across the globe performing excellent in their respective fields.
