My Life in University of Rajasthan College

Overall Rating
University of Rajasthan is situated in Jaipur at JLN Marg; hence, it is easily accessible. The overall experience is average. People who are willing to prepare for competitive papers can benefit a lot from this university, as they get enough time to invest. The campus is very large with different universities for Commerce and Arts subjects respectively.
 

Academics Rating
I chose BA Economics (Hons.) I am interested towards economics from my school time so applied for the same along with Math as my minor subject. An eligibility criterion is that you need to complete your secondary education. Admission process is quite simple. You just need to fill out a form and based on your 12th percentage you get a seat. The exams happen semester wise with 2 exams each in one semester. One being midterm and the other being end term, these are conducted with ample amount of gap. The academic curriculum is quite relevant to the real life.
The yearly fee is around Rs. 8,000, with exam fee being extra based on the subjects you have chosen. It is about Rs. 4,000 per semester. The fee for students with reservation is lesser. Government scholarships are available.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members are quite capable. Most of the faculty members are professors from different universities. Teacher student ratio is 1 teacher for approximately 40 to 45 students. Some teachers are really helpful and active online as well. The teaching method mostly includes blackboards with computer lab limited to only maths students. Group discussions are not there.
 

Placement Rating
The placement cell is present in the university but needs to be improved. Almost impossible to get a good placement directly from university. Jaipur based companies and start-ups visit the placement.
 

Hostel Rating
The hostels are located at the back of the university with good space in rooms but AC or Cooler is important for Summers. There is a 400-meter track, football ground, volleyball, basketball, etc. just near the hostel. Students interested in sports can really benefit. Boys and girls hostel are separated. The mess food is not so good not so bad, just average. The hostel fee is about Rs. 15,000 per year.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The university is not a multi-storey building but spanned out vastly. Corridors connect the classrooms and the space between the academic block is occupied by beautiful gardens. The classrooms are basic with only a blackboard present and no AV aid in the classroom. The library is quite good but with strict rules. Computer lab is there but only a few of the computers work properly. Conference hall is present. Canteen is very basic with average taste. Ncc is present in the form of army wing. Sports ground are carefully looked after. Overall, the infrastructure lacks basic upgradation.
 

Campus Rating
Overall campus life is average. It is quite different to as what a student thinks after 12th. The university is a boy’s university so the crowd is average with some students being very serious about the exam they are appearing in and on the other hand, others want to graduate. There are clubs. The university organises a fest. The campus life is quite sad as one-student imagines. The focus is on academics.

    I'm pursuing B.Com in commerce college which comes under Rajasthan University. I chose this university because I'm pursuing a professional degree along with it and it offers an option for distance education.     Considering that fact that this university is regarded as one of the most prestigious institutions of the state, University of Rajasthan offers a vast variety of options to explore upon for students like me. University of Rajasthan is indeed an amazing place for you to shine in all areas necessary for your overall development and growth as students.   • UNIRAJ Jaipur Cost-Effective Fee Structure
     

    Overall Rating
    University life is average. The placement opportunities are less here but it gives good knowledge about subjects. Students are mostly from Jaipur so less diversity of students. Guards and CCTV cameras are there for security purpose. I will suggest this university if you want to pursue graduation degrees and not professional degrees.     My experience in University of Rajasthan is quite decent, however did had few backlashes in terms of quality education. The courses which I took included accounting, finance and business studies related subjects, which were taught by knowledgeable facilities, even though they may not cooperate, at times.
