St. Xavier's College Kolkata: Academics, Fee Structure and Many More

Overall Rating
St. Xavier's College is known for its strict academic standards and attendance policies, but what remains unknown is that Xavier's becomes the 6th best Commerce college in India according to the NIRF ranking 2024, because of its infrastructure, culture, academics, discipline and most importantly, the people. Networking is the key to enjoy your college life, at least at this college. The curriculum is good and updated regularly. It offers a good mix of theory and practical application.
 

Academics Rating
I am pursuing B.Com (Hons.) In Accountancy and Finance. We have 2 exams for every semester- CIA (a 40 marks exam, scaled down to 20) and the end semester exams (70 marks). Along with it, we have seminars for every subject. Attendance, assignment, and seminars consist of 10 marks in total.
For the B.Com (Hons.) Evening batch, which is co-ed, the fees lies around Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 70,000 per semester, which is paid in 2 unequal installments, which will be mentioned in the college portal. For Morning batch, it is for Boys only, the fees lies around Rs. 30,000 Rs. 40,000 per semester.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty of St. Xavier's College is highly experienced. Many of them hold PhD degrees and some even have experience with publishing. Each professor has their own way of teaching- some prefer blackboard, some prefer pots while teach us through group discussions. The faculty is highly approachable; doubts are entertained beyond class hours as well. Some professors send the notes for the exams, some do not but that will not be a problem for you, notes circulate in 5G speed.
 

Placement Rating
Internship opportunities are available throughout the year, but make sure to create an account on the placement cell website. come We also have an event, called Initium where 50+ companies provide the students with internships, and students can apply in 3 companies according to the job role and their choice. The placement opportunity in our college is also reliable and steadily improving. The top recruiters are the big 4, and other top companies.
 

Hostel Rating
Our college has 2 off-campus hostels, primarily for outstation students- one for boys and one for girls. Discipline is highly maintained. The hostels are well-maintained, safe, and hygienic. Rooms are shared from 2-4 occupants. Mess facility is available- and food is vegetarian friendly.
 

Infrastructure Rating

If you really want to enjoy your college life, participate in events, join societies, network, make friends, enjoy with them. The crowd is diverse & you can find a student from every state of India. Students are generally well-spoken, ambitious, and growth-inducing. The college has 40+ societies. Xavotsav is the annual fest of St. Xavier's College, Kolkata, which is a very renowned fest all across the city. There is no strict uniform- but decency should be maintained.

    St. Xavier's College, Kolkata, is an institution with a NAAC ranking of A++. It is ranked 5 in the Nation by NIRF. It is a very good place to study academic courses like BA, B.Sc and B.Com.     St. Xavier's College, Kolkata is an autonomous college and one of the most prestigious colleges of India. It is also famous in abroad.
