VIT Vellore Conducts 3 Exams in a Semester

My overall experience was very interesting. The crowd is very diverse, and the experience is very eventful. Events are happening throughout the year in the Institute. You get to network with people from all around the world and the faculty is very learned and helpful. Vellore Institute of Technology is extremely reputed and has existed for over 35 years. It is one of the most prestigious private engineering Institutes in India. They also have a good placement record.

The curriculum is very well thought out to prepare you for real-life challenges. I am a student of B.Tech (ECE). They conduct an entrance exam called VITEEE, held annually. You get to choose your branch depending on your rank of the exam. They have three main exams throughout the semester, two called CATs (Continuous Assessment tests), each of 50 marks, later reduced to 15, and a main semester exam at the end of the semester of 100 marks, later reduced to 40. Assignments, quizzes, projects, etc. account for the rest of the marks. Relative grading is followed for all theory subjects. Absolute grading is followed for lab examinations.

The tuition fees depend on what category you secure in your branch, out of the five categories divided on the basis on your rank. The lower your rank, the more fee increases.

The faculty at Vellore Institute of Technology consists of well experienced researchers and professors who come from reputed Institute s around the world. The faculty focuses on outcome-based education. The faculty is very enthusiastic to help out and guide students. The faculty is very dedicated and passionate about their respective fields of work. They keep up with technological advancements to provide quality education to students at all times. Their dedication motivates the students to work harder.

The hostel fee depends on the number of roommates you want. You can choose a single sharing; double sharing, triple sharing, up to 6 roommates, in which you can choose an Ac or non-AC. The hostel fee is directly proportional to the number of roommates you choose and increases for AC rooms.

The campus is known to be very huge, and it is very green. There are multiple academic blocks which are very well-kept catering to the students of different branches. The classrooms and labs are spacious and well maintained, consisting of all necessary equipment. They offer facilities like libraries, gyms, canteens, swimming pools, eateries, utility shops, ATMs, laundry services, sports complexes, hospital, etc. I like going to the library. It has a nice ambiance.

There are a lot of clubs and a lot of chapters which cater to different interests. You can find a club for almost everything you want. All seniors and peers are very supportive and friendly. You get to interact with people from different backgrounds which expose you to different culture, languages and traditions. The city is tailored to provide various outlets for entertainment for the students. They have multiple cafes, arcades, sport centers, etc. The Institute also organizes technical and cultural fests annually, inviting talent from all across the country, for example, Sunidhi Chauhan, Shreya Ghoshal, Badshah, Sonu Nigam, Arman Malik, and more.
