Highest Package of VIT Vellore is about 88 LPA in the Year 2024

I recently completed my first year at VIT Vellore. I chose this Institute because this is one of the best Institutes amongst many others. There are some key features of this Institute that makes it standout amongst other options. The only problem is the presence of huge crowd which makes it difficult to avail basic facilities.

I am enrolled in the Integrated M.Tech Data Science course as I was interested in being a Data Scientist. In this program one can enroll through their Class 12th board marks. You have to choose your preference order of their branch and the different campuses like Vellore, Chennai, AP, Bhopal, and others. I do not know the exact admission criteria. The most common way to get into VIT Vellore is by giving its own entrance test VITEEE. In every semester, there are two in-between semester exams called as CATs and end semester called FATs. The teaching process in this Institute is very excellent with relevant syllabus and experienced teachers that would truly help in future.

There is category system in Institute that is based on rankings such as category 1 with the least fee up to category 5. In my course, the category is only till 3. For category 1, the fees in my course is Rs. 96,000/- per year and for category 2, the fee is Rs. 1,59,000/- per year. There are various scholarships you can avail in this Institute.

Most of the faculties in our Institute are from South India. They are highly experienced and qualified with most of them being Ph.D holders. They use PPTs and even whiteboard to teach. They really solve everybody's doubts. You can even reach out to teachers in their cabin or through mail or even through WhatsApp. Every teacher teaches a class of 70 students. I had a wonderful bonding with my first year teachers and almost all of them were good.

The placement cell assists the students really well with hands on experience and several mock interviews. Companies like Amazon, Google visit and even companies like TCS and Cognizant take workforce in bunch. Getting a placement for the one who has GPA 9+ is much easier than the rest. In 2024, Highest package is 88 LPA, median is 6 LPA, and average is 10 LPA.

The Institute has very huge crowd so there are around 15 hostels only for boys and several other hostels for girls too. They have AC, non-AC, regular and deluxe rooms. The mess food is improved but repetitive and not that good in taste. There is high restriction on time in hostels. You can't keep kettles or other electronic appliances.

The infrastructure is great and spread over a huge area. There are 2 huge grounds to play. There is tennis, squash, swimming pool, and gym but you have to pay extra fees to avail these facilities. There are canteens and other eating options inside the campus. You also get Domino's, Samsung store, and Amul outlet inside the campus. There is 3 floored air conditioned library with personal cabins and large number of books and E-books.

The campus life is pretty good with people from different linguistic background. The campus is crowded. There are many clubs in our Institute which organise events and also represent our Institute in other competitions. There are two fests in our Institute. First is Gravitas which is tech fest and the other is culture fest Reviria where artists like Shreya Ghoshal, Mohan Sisters, Sonu Sood, and Jonita Gandhi performed this year.
