SPIT Mumbai Auditorium has a Seating Capacity of 200 Students

My overall experience is great in this institute. SPIT Mumbai offers a very good culture in all domains. Be it academics or extracurricular activities, the institute offers everything you need for your overall growth. The thing that makes this institute different is the atmosphere in the campus. It has a lush green campus, having an adventure park, Shiv mandir, botanical nursery, lake and sports grounds. Placement cell is very supportive and so is the institute faculty. The only downside is that the institute does not have a hostel yet. Other all things are great.

I am currently enrolled in Computer Engineering in this institute. You can enroll by MHT-CET or JEE Main. Cutoff for CSE is about 99 percentile in MHT-CET for General and OBC. Admission in institute is done by CAP round procedure. Spot round and institutional rounds are also conducted after CAP round 3. In each semester, three exams are conducted namely MSE, ISE and ESE. Along with that, lab exams and viva are also conducted before ESE.

Fee for each year depends for each category of students. Institute fees ranges from Rs. 2,00,000/- to Rs. 2,20,000/- depending upon the category.

Faculty is highly qualified. All the faculty members are PhD holders from renowned institutions like IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur etc. Teachers are friendly in general but strict in case of attendance and academic rules. Few teachers like to teach using smart-boards while some prefer traditional white boards. Problem solving abilities of teachers are good and all the teachers are very approachable in general. Teacher to student ratio is also quite reasonable.

Campus size is 47 acres and is shared by SPIT, SPCE, SPJIMR and Bhavan’s institute. Campus is located in Andheri West. Cricket, Football and Volleyball grounds are there. All other sports like Tables Tennis, Carom, and Chess are also encouraged. The institute Gymkhana offers various other facilities for gym enthusiasts and also has a studio for music and dance. All labs are equipped with high-end computer systems. Other labs such as ‘Prayas’ and ‘Idealab’ are also present in institute. Classrooms have smart boards, AC, and security cameras. There a big library, 200-seater auditorium, and a conference room as well. There are several canteens in the campus. There is a night canteen as well which remains open till 2 AM.

Overall campus life is very good. There is a nice balance between academics and extracurricular. Fest seasons bring lot of joy in the crowd. All the students are also of growing mindset. There are several clubs and committees to groom your hobbies and interests. Cultural club of the institute includes dance, music, fashion, drama and fine arts. It is called ‘Mudra’. Students interested in Entrepreneurship and Business are welcomed by E-cell SPIT. The institute's techno-cultural fest is called ‘Oculus’ and Sports week is called ‘Spoorthi’. Rotaract club is also present for people interested in IT. There are total 20+ clubs and committees in the institute. Overall, it is a great experience.
