SDCH Shimoga: From the Lens of a Freshmen

Overall Rating
I joined this College because it is near to my city and has very good patient flow. SDCH Shimoga has supportive teachers and informative lectures. Practical labs and classrooms are very nice. To help refresh mind, good weather and greenery all around College is there. I enjoy being at this College.
 

Academics Rating
I am in first year of Bachelor of Dental Surgery. It is a five-year course with 4 years of study and one year of internships. Eligibility criterion to get into this College is NEET exam and then counselling. In first year, we have subjects like Physiology, Biochemistry, Anatomy, Dental Histology, and Dental Anatomy. The College takes frequent tests. They will prepare you for exams well.
When you join this College by KEA counselling, for government seat the fee is Rs. 96,000/- and they take Rs. 50,000/- extra for the facilities like bus etc. The hostel facility is also available for Rs. 30,000/- and mess fee is Rs. 36,000/- per year.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculties are very supportive and teach very good. Their method of teaching is through PPT and blackboard. The teachers allow us to ask doubts and they help to make us understand well. In our batch, we are the 100 students. Student teacher ratio is 1:100. Our teachers are very enthusiastic to teach and we are very thankful to get such a great faculty.
 

Hostel Rating
The hostel is very good, we have good electricity supply. Rooms & washroom are cleaned daily.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure is amazing here. The College, canteen and the hostel, all are very near to each other so it is easy to walk and reach there. We have very big libraries, seminar halls, and a conference hall. The canteen provides good snacks. The library is very helpful for our studies. There is a football and a volleyball grounds. Our campus has a water drainage system, which is helpful on rainy days. The most attractive part of the College is its greenery.
 

Campus Rating
The overall campus life of SDCH Shimoga is good. There is a fest every year, which is very enthusiastic.

    Overall speaking, SDC is very good. In Shimoga, there are only two colleges. Out of these two, Sharavathi Dental College and Hospital receives maximum number of patients. Transportation facilities are also provided by the college which is very useful. The college environment is subtle. The greenery by far is the best thing about this college.... Read Full Review

    SDC has good infrastructure, with average teaching equipment. Good environment is also provided for studies in this college. Co-curricular activities are given same importance as academics.
