I am having an excellent journey at Sharavathi Dental College and Hospital, Shimoga. I choose this College because of its prime location, excellent infrastructure and the highly qualified staff. The quality of lab equipment and the facilities provided here are all excellent.

I am pursuing Bachelor of Dental Surgery. Since, I have joined this College I became more passionate to serve the society with all my heart as oral health contributes to the overall well-being of an individual. One should qualify NEET to become eligible for admission at the College. The admission process is smooth and is run by the staff there. The faculty members at the College guide you through the admission process. There are test and exams held on weekly and monthly basis which helps them prepare for their final exams. The exams here are quite challenging but they somehow prepare us for real-life challenges.

The fee for my course is around Rs. 1,00,000/- per year. This fee is inclusive of all the charge except for the hostel fee. Students get about 50% scholarship based on their performance in the exams held in College. Some of the students have all got full tuition fee concessions due to their excellent performance.

All the faculties are well qualified and have completed their education from reputed educational Institutions and have work experience in renowned hospitals. They teach the students with passion. There is one on one doubt solving sessions through the day. The student teacher ratio is well-balanced. There is 1 teacher for every 10 students. They teachers are very friendly and approachable. Students can feel free to ask their doubts. They have great problem-solving abilities. They teach using blackboards and PPTs.

Yes, we are provided with hostels by the College. The hostel fee is around Rs. 40,000/- per year. The accommodations are very spacious and the facility of round-the-clock hot and cold water supply is there. The hygiene of the hostel is well-maintained. The hostels have a good study environment.

Sharavathi Dental College and Hospital, Shimoga has a well-equipped campus spread on across 5 acres of land. There are 8 blocks with each being dedicated to a respective department. There are big classrooms with sufficient seating capacity. The classrooms have the facility of smart boards too. The labs are well-equipped. The library of the College has rich collection of books. There are seminar halls, air-conditioned auditoriums, clean and well-maintained canteens. We have a big playground and facilities for various sports are also offered. Transport facilities are also available.

Overall campus life is excellent according to me. Due to less student crowd, attention to each and every student is given. There are various clubs for different kinds of activities and I am a part of one of the clubs. There are many co-circular activities organised at the College too like sports day, cultural day, public health day, etc. There is an annual fests conducted too which is very vibrant and fun. At this fest, students showcase a variety of talents which adds life to the fest.
