Vivekananda College New Delhi Offers Annual Scholarships as per Academic Performance

It's been a year since I have enrolled in this College. The College is affiliated with University of Delhi, and is situated in its east campus. As UoD has two major campuses - north and south, the others are categorized as off campuses. Though being an off campus College, Vivekananda College is graded NAAC A+ which is quite similar to some of the south campus Colleges. The institute is very beautiful; with highly maintained gardens. The ambience, classrooms, basic amenities like water cooler, bathrooms, is overall good. My experience was overall good, with qualified and good teachers, fests, good food in canteen and a good crowd. I would highly recommend this College for Maths as it has great faculty in Mathematics department. The teachers understand, and they teach quite nicely. Psychology department of College is quite famous too. The campus is peaceful. The connectivity with the main city of Delhi is fine. It is very to close to Anand Vihar railway station and bus station. You can find many PGs and flats around the College. The area is near Laxmi Nagar which is the hub of coachings for competitive exams. Overall, I would rate my experience a 4 out of 5.

As a PCM student in class 12th, I liked mathematics more than the other subjects. I had my interest in research too, that is why I opted for B.Sc Mathematics (Hons.) as it will work as a base for my studies in pursuing research. To enroll in this College, one must give the CUET exam conducted by NTA. The cut off for the B.Sc courses are not high, so it is not that difficult to enroll. Once enrolled, you should attend the orientation ceremony and then start attending the regular College. The admission process is quite simple and hassle-free. The exams are conducted annually. The timetable is issued from the main office and everything is conducted according to the same.

The fee of my chosen course is Rs. 16,000/- per year, and additionally an amount of about Rs. 1,500/- is to be paid for examination, although the amount varies on subject selection. The detailed fee structure is- College tuition fee Rs. 216/-, student welfare fund fee is Rs. 3,300/-, College development fund fee is Rs. 6044/-, facilities and service charges are Rs. 2,500/-, the caution money to be deposited is Rs. 1,000/-, University student welfare fund is Rs. 397/-, University development fund is Rs. 1200/-, University facility and service charges are Rs. 1250/-, EWS support university fund is Rs. 200/-, Delhi University students' union fund is Rs. 40/- which makes up for the total of Rs. 16,000/-. Special discounts are provided to students from the PWD category. Various annual scholarships are awarded with the amount ranging from a Rs. 100/- to Rs. 25,000/- depending upon the academic performance of the individual.

The faculty members of the course are well versed and very understanding. They teach the concepts thoroughly, often citing simple examples. The senior teachers are amazing, they teach very well, and help the weaker students. Mrs. Anju Nagpal is one of the best teachers of the Mathematics department. They teach by providing notes, solving on the blackboard and for practical classes, labs and projectors are used. The teacher student ratio is good, with around 2000+ students and 130+ teachers. My personal experience is good with faculty; they are very approachable and helpful, whether it is an academic problem or personal problem. The cooperation of the teachers helps us in preparing well, sharpening our analytical thinking and problem solving skills. It builds a foundation for data analysis, research and technology roles, and helping us to approach real life challenges with clarity.

The infrastructure and the ambience of the Vivekananda College is amazing, it is full of greenery. The College is well maintained. The campus size is about 10 acres with almost 5 acres contributing to various sports activities. The locality of the College is very good; it is in a posh area of Vivek Vihar. The classroom size is good with a seating capacity of about 100+ students, a blackboard and a projector is available. The College has a library with 3 floors, many labs, a seminar hall and an auditorium which also acts as the conference hall. There is a very good canteen with clean and good food facilities at minimum price. My favorite part is the computer labs as they are cozy in winters and refreshing in summers. Labs help a lot in the practical learning, data analysis and much more real life challenges.

The campus life is overall refreshing; it is not very hectic and is good for the students who want to focus on their studies. The College crowd is good; it mostly consists of students who are here for studies. There are many societies and extracurricular clubs for each type of student. There are many extracurricular activities conducted by the College in the regard of sports, singing, dancing, etc. An annual three day fest was organized where the famous singer Prabh Gill was invited to perform. My overall experience is good; I had fun in my first year. This College is a perfect balance of academics and fests.
