Chandigarh University has Separate Hostels for Boys and Girls

As I am entering in my 4th year at Chandigarh University. One thing that I have seen here is their dedication towards the betterment of the students. They work on the area where students are lacking behind in placements and they also make them attend classes for clearing their doubts.

I am pursuing Bachelor's in Computer Science and Engineering. I always liked the growing technology and was interested in knowing the computer, software, internet and all the website designing. Eligibility criteria are 60% in your 10th and 12th Standard. Students can also give scholarship test called CUCET and according to the score, students can get 100% scholarship. There are 2 mid semester exams which include both theory and practical exams.

The tuition fee of my course in Chandigarh University was Rs. 1,06,000/- per semester but I got 40% of scholarship by qualifying the scholarship test. The examination fee was Rs. 2,500/-.

The faculty is overall good. For different subjects we have different teachers. The overall behavior of the faculty is good; some are very friendly and cooperative. Some teachers are very strict because they only want students to understand, learn, and prepares better for the viva exams. Usually teachers use projectors for PPTs and whiteboards for teaching.

The Placement cell of this University is excellent. They provide aptitude classes for improving students’ soft skills. They also conduct different career planning session and alumni session. They organise expert talks, mock interviews, Summer and winter camps. The package relies between 3 LPA to 55 LPA. Students with great skills secured good packages at top MNCs and the average package is around 7 LPA. Many renowned companies visit the campus such as Samsung, Morgan, Stanley, High Radius, and many others. Certified trainers are also allotted to make the student industry ready.

There are separate hostels for girls and the boys. I am not living in the hostel. The students who came first got the hostels. The hostel is very hygienic and clean. The mess food is average according to my friends.

The campus is located at the National highway and it’s spread over 120 acres. The campus infrastructure is really good. The campus has different gates for different blocks. Each block has its own library and central library with ample number of books. The campus also has lab facilities. Every block has their food courts and different shops. The electric buggy service is also available that can carry you to different parts of the campus. The University has its own hospital, transport facilities, and security department. My favorite thing here is the central library of D block; it also has meeting rooms, excellent architecture, etc. We also have an E-library.

The campus life and the crowd are very good. The University also organise events and shows such as Tashan nights, Fresher’s party, CU fest, and many others. The celebrities also come to our University to promote their movies and songs. The DJs are also there for events like Holi. The campus life is great here, you can enjoy each and every moment of your life. They also organise hackathons, competitions, public speaking, debate, and GDs for the students.
