What I loved the most is campus life I experienced here. My overall experience at VIT Vellore has been great and transformative. This place provides a balanced environment for academics, research, and extracurricular activities. Key factors that made me choose this Institute was its excellent placement record and strong industry connections which have consistently opened top career opportunities for students studying here. The Institute is truly different from other Institutions in my opinion. There are many events which have ample student participating in hackathons, leadership activities, and other thing held on-campus along with their academics. This unique blend of exposure, practical learning, and global outlook is something I haven't seen elsewhere.

I am final year student of B.Tech Information Technology at the Institute. My strong interest in Coding, Software Development and the growing demand for IT professionals in the industry made me choose this course. The motive behind enrolling in this course was to gain both theoretical knowledge and practical exposure in emerging technologies like Cloud Computing, Big Data and Cyber Security. The eligibility criteria for admission includes passing 10+2 with Physics ,Chemistry & Maths as core subjects and VITEEE entrance exam, which is primary mode of selection and is followed by counselling and seat allocation. Frequency of exams in any course takes place in the form of semesters containing two internals and one end-semester exam. The Institute prepares students extremely well for real-life challenges. The curriculum is industry-oriented, with regular workshops, coding competitions and internships.

For my course at the Institute, the fee structure is divided into categories based on merit ranking in the entrance exam (VITEEE). The tuition fee for my category was around from Rs. 1,95,000/- to Rs. 2,25,000/- per year. In addition to tuition fee, at the time of joining, students also have to pay one-time admission and registration charges of around Rs. 10,000/- to Rs. 15,000/- .Hostel and mess fee is separate and usually depends on type of room and mess chosen. The Institute also provides fee relaxations and scholarships to students from reserved categories, merit-based high performers, and students with outstanding achievements in sports or academics.

The faculty members at the Institute who teach the subjects of my course are highly qualified and most of them hold Ph.Ds or postgraduate degrees. Many of them have strong research backgrounds, industry collaborations and publications in International journals which add great value to the learning experience. Faculty members emphasize practical learning, teamwork and problem-solving skills. The teaching method is a mix of PPTs, white board teaching, discussions of case studies, projects, coding labs and group discussions. The problem solving abilities of the faculty is great and all are very approachable and willing to clarify doubts both inside and outside classroom hours. The teacher student ratio is well-maintained ensuring individual attention when needed. My personal experience with the faculty has been very positive. They are very supportive and encouraging.

The Institute has a very strong and well-organised Placement and Training cell, which is dedicated to helping students secure jobs in top companies. The placement cell organises mock interview, aptitude training sessions, coding contests, etc. The cell (CDC) actively works throughout the year to build industry connections, invite recruiters and prepare students for the hiring process.

Yes, the Institute provides excellent residential facilities for both boys and girls with a range of hostels inside the campus. The rooms are of single, double, triple and four bedded rooms with facility of both AC and non-AC rooms. Each hostel is well maintained with 24 / 7 water supply, electricity, laundry services, Wi-Fi connectivity till 12:30 AM and security. Boys and girls hostels are totally separate. The mess food is good and hygienic and students can choose their own mess which is of three types including vegetarian, non-vegetarian and special mess which serves North and South Indian meals 4 times a day.

VIT Vellore campus is one of the most impressive infrastructures in India in my opinion. It is spread across nearly 372 acres. There are beautifully-designed blocks, green spaces and modern architecture. Fully-equipped classrooms that have comfortable seating, projectors, smart boards, etc. to enhance the learning experience. Academic facilities such as a central library with lakhs of books, e-resources and research journals are there and specialised labs are also there for IT and Engineering. Multiple seminar halls, auditoriums and conference halls for students are there where events, seminars and some of the lectures are conducted.

My overall campus life at the Institute has been vibrant, engaging and full of opportunities. The Institute’s crowd is very diverse with students coming from different parts of India and abroad which makes the campus truly multicultural. There are many clubs and chapters on campus covering every area like Technical, Cultural, Sports, Literature and Arts. I personally took part in Coding and Technical club and chapter. There are extracurricular activities such as hackathons, ‘Riviera’, ‘Gravitas’, debates, cultural nights, and sports tournaments. My experience with campus life has been extremely fulfilling, from late night hostel fun, club activities to going to classes together, etc. are all enjoyable and memorable.
