VNIT Nagpur is a public institute in Nagpur and is funded by the central government and All India Counsel for Technical Education. This institute is very old institute in Nagpur. College offer courses in various streams of engineering. Very good faculty members teach in this institute. Students in the institute are very helpful in terms of providing study material and guidance for the placements. There are more than fifty buildings in the college with good resources in the college. Overall this college gives us a good experience in all fields. I decided in this college because this was a good college in terms of placements and academic facilities. Other than that college is also good in the extracurricular activities and in the research. I think anyone who want to learn and want to experience a good college life should join this institute without any doubt and there are also some good internship opportunities in the campus with some stipend.

I got the specialization in power and energy system in my masters of technology in which I also got some scholarship on my overall tuition fee and I avail a discount of 30000 in my fee and you can also get this discount if you get a good rank in GATE exam which entrance exam for the admission in M. Tech. Entry requirements for this course is that we need to complete our graduation and then appear for the entrance exam called GATE and then register on the CCMT portal for the next step in the process. My reason for the admission was simple because in the B. Tech I was interested in the power systems and electrical machines and I also did my final year projects on the power electronic based model. Semester exam are very difficult to qualify as compared to those in my graduation and same for the project work.

This institute is the home to one of the best faculties in all over India without any doubt and the level of their understanding of the concepts is also very good and their project works are also very good. Especially the teachers related to the power electronics division are very good and the support they provide us is also very good. Some of the teachers in VNIT Nagpur had done work in the much respected organizations like Defense Research and Development Organization, Bhabha Atomic Research Center, Indian Space Research Organization and Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited etc. They work their good amount of time and they told us their experiences and they guide us to be part of these organization in future. All the teachers in the college are good in the way of teaching and all of them are expert in hot to deliver any topics to the students.

Placement department bring the companies to the college from various departments like Construction, Computer Applications, Information Technology, Semiconductor Companies, Electrical Companies and power and transmission firms. But most of the companies visit the campus are cone for the computing and management jobs and few of the jobs for the core engineering branches like civil, electrical, mechanical. In my passing out year the number of jobs offered to the students around 900. Highest package of the institute was 34 Lakh per annum and the average package was around 10 LPA. But the majority of the offers were of around 6 Lakh per annum and almost every student placed at that CTC. Companies which visit the campus for the electrical students are Bosch, Goldman Sachs, HPCL, Philips India, Larson and Turbo, Torrent Power, Siemens Energy, Adani Power, Adani Transmission, Tata Power and JSW Power etc.

I lived in college hostel in my first year and second year and after that I lived two year outside the campus and I lived in a PG. Hostels were good and accommodations are good and the facilities in the college hostels are free laundry service, free high speed Wi-Fi for the students, free room cleaning service, No electricity charge, No hidden fee than the hostels and mess fee. Fee for one bed in two seater room is around 75000 excluding the security fee in the college. Mess is below average in the hostels and that is the main reason for leaving the college hostel for me. There were variety of food in the hostel fee including south and north Indian food in the mess but the quality of the food is bad. PG are good around the campus area and the facilities are equivalent to the campus hostels but the quality of the food is far better than that of hostels inside the campus but fee is little high in PG. Overall both college hostel and PG has their good and bad parts.

One fact about the college that is very famous is that 4000 student can live inside the 12 hostel building in the college for girls and boys student. Hostels are good with all the facilities like a recreational room inside the hostel with TV and some sports facilities are also available in the campus. Various sports complexes are situated in the campus area like Badminton Court, Kabaddi Ground, Hockey Ground, Kho-Kho Ground, Volleyball Ground and Basketball Ground. Labs in the department of the electrical and electronic engineering are very good with great support staff in the lab they maintain the labs very well. Cafeteria of the NIT Nagpur is a good place to hangout with friends. Other resources like library, auditorium are also in good state inside the campus. Overall college architecture is very good and shiny.

Some good events are organized in the institute at grand level and they have huge participation from the students across many college of central India and the crowd in the fest are also very good. Best event in the college is the technical fest which conducted in the month of April each year with great participation from the students across many colleges. Annual technical fest called AXIS and in this fest we get some prizes if we won. And the best part of the college life is the annual cultural fest in which many events are conducted each year and it is a event for the celebration and enjoyment. Various types of clubs are present in the NIT like the innovation club. Mechatronics clubs, society for the electrical engineers, power electronics club. Machines society and the SAE club of the institute. I really like the life of the college and the environment we get in the institute is very good.
