Punjab Agricultural University B.Sc Agriculture Review By Charchit Bansal

I had chosen Punjab Agricultural University not because it was my dream but because I could not make into MBBS. Sad it is!! But it was not a bad experience. The environment is very good, well equipped infrastructure, main focus into studies and research. Proper games and everything you can find over here. A lot of courses you can find here. I am in agricultural science which is almost of all and others include engineering, community sciences, basic sciences, horticulture and forestry.

This university is having its major focus on academics majorly on the research basis as it is an internationally renowned university having a good image worldwide. All the teachers in Punjab Agricultural University are well qualified with having a lot of experience in their respective fields and having at least their PhD’s. Students are provided with their respective advisors which coordinate them in their whole year long journey of the degree.

Teachers are well qualified, even their assistants are well qualified. They communicate well with the students and even are ready to help you whenever you want to. They are keen to help students in their research work which helps a lot. Proper association of teachers is there named PAUTA – PAU Teachers Association. Every teacher has his/her own cabin in their respective department where they are available whenever you are in need of their help or something.

Placement opportunities are also there. Big players like AMUL, VERKA, IFFCO, TRIDENT and much more in the field of food industry and agriculture come here and provide students the opportunities of placements and internships which shape their career in a good way. More of the placements are from agriculture and agricultural engineering department. Proper Placement Cell is there which timely guide the students about new and innovative opportunities available to them.

Well maintained hostels are there separately for girls and boys. Even post Grad students are having their different hostels. International students also have their different hostel. Hostels are equipped with proper Wi-Fi connection having access to mess of each hostel in its premises. Every hostel has its own canteen and a common room having TV and Games section.

Proper well maintained infrastructure is there with well maintained buildings and departments. Each department is having proper equipment that is not in other universities like electron microscopy section. Moreover, proper facility of library is there having each and every kind of book that you will be in need ever. Proper food area is there. Easy access to market is available. PAU Hospital is also in the university itself.

This is the thing that is dependent on oneself only. According to me and my peer group, we are enjoying each and every bit of our degree. Nearness to market and malls makes us easy to go and chill out there. And because every game is there so it is very much obvious that proper game discipline is there which a student can indulge in. So it is an overall a good package to study in it.
