Admission in Doon University Dehradun is Through Online Mode

The Doon University Dehradun is great in terms of infrastructure and environment. The roads are very clean and well-maintained. I always wanted to grow my career in Writing so I chose to pursue B.A English (Hons.) from this University. It provides the best education at a minimum fee. The cheaper fee structure and best value makes it different from other Universities. It is away from the main city which makes it quiet and close to nature.

I've enrolled into this course because I have always wanted to pursue my career in Writing and give my hobby a great start. To get admission, I've cleared an entrance exam that was conducted by the University itself and got admission on merit basis. Exams are held twice a semester with a gap of 3 months. Academically, this particular course is helping me to communicate well with people which I was unable to do earlier.

For this program, I've paid Rs. 17,000/- as my Admission fee & first semester fee. Then from second semester onwards, I've been paying Rs. 8500/- per semester. But this is the fee structure for the Reserved category that is 50 % less than the General category. For General category, it's Rs. 34,500/- for Admission & first semester fee and Rs. 17,000/- for the upcoming semesters. The University also provides some special scholarships amounting to Rs. 30,000/- for extraordinary students and those with backward backgrounds.

The faculty is very good and helpful. I've never faced any issues with the faculty in terms of understanding and teaching. All the teachers are from well-educated background. Classrooms are equipped with Smart Boards and White Boards. There are more than enough teachers in the department and the students have a great bonding with them.

The University does have a Placement Cell which works for placement related works like calling companies and introducing them to students. In the English department, there is not much scope for placement but the University provides some job opportunities to the students by getting them hired as a Tutor while they are doing their Ph.D. Average package is around 6 LPA.

The University also provides hostel facilities for the students. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. Rooms are available in single occupancy. There is free Wi-Fi for the students, a Playground, and Mess. The Mess is hygienic and has good food quality is good. The hostel fee is around Rs. 25,000/- for six months. The gate closing timing is around 9:30 PM.

The Doon University Dehradun campus is huge and the roads are wide. The locality is great and the students can get access to anything. There is an ATM inside the campus, and each department has its own building. Other facilities include a Seminar Hall, Library, Auditorium, etc. Moreover, Practical Labs are also provided for the Science department and for Media Studies, Media Labs are also provided. There’s also a Cafeteria that is good and hygienic. The University also provides Sports facilities for Cricket, Basketball, Football, Tennis, and many indoor games as well. My favourite place is the Library because I love reading books.

I love being at the campus because of the greenery. The crowd is average. There are many Clubs for extracurricular activities like Dance, Drawing, Singing, Acting, etc. Many fests like the Diwali Fest, Halloween Fest, and other Departmental fests are often organised for the students so they can enjoy and have some fun. I love being here and have never regretted my decision.
