There are many reasons for you to take admission in Dwarkadas J Sanghvi College of Engineering. One of the main reason is that the college has a autonomous status, which only a handful of colleges in Maharashtra does have. The main college festival is one of the biggest in Central India, which is full of enjoyment. The quality of teaching is outstanding over here.

The course of Data Science which I have opted for is one of the most in demand and emerging field in the IT sector. The requirements for the course, i.e. the cut offs for our college is very high. DJSCE Mumbai is Gujarati minority college, thus the Guajarati students might benefit from it. The course is itself a new branch in our college along with 3 other new branches that have started from 2020. Our college comes under the Mumbai University, but since, it is an autonomous institute, it has the right to make its our curriculum, its own examination papers and the same is also checked by the college faculties itself, rather than the Mumbai University invigilators. The practical examinations are conducted by externals. The curriculum is very new, not much developed, as it does not have any specified books for references. There are many subjects that are very different from normal Computer branch but still have the same important as their subjects. Overall the academics over here make the student’s professional and industry ready to make technical innovations out of the box.

There are many faculties available for every department. Most of the faculty are very disciplined in their teaching and don't tolerate any misbehavior in their class. They are very particular about the lab sessions as they always say that labs are more important than the lectures. They teach us in a very thoughtful, understandable and very supportive. They help us and encourage us of taking and completing many innovative projects, which then can be published in our college journals and attached in our resume. Most of the faculty here have a lot of experience in the teaching industry, average around 15-20 years. They exactly understand what to teach, how to teach, and how to control the students in a very systematic manner. We can also say that they are the roots of our college. Some of them are still working on research projects and pursuing their PhD degrees. They inspire and challenge us to use our innovation and intellect which could bring out an impact in the society.

Yes, our college do have a placement cell called the Trainings and Placement Committee. They are responsible for connecting students to the corporate worlds and help them be professional in their careers. They focus on placements and internships. They approach and bring many companies to our college for the former scenario. The committee consists of some student representatives, the principal and some of the teachers. They organize campus interviews for final year students with companies from all over India. They also conduct internship fair every year, where companies come and give their demands and job profiles, where the students can select out of them and apply for the interviews if interested in the company. They also conduct various career counseling sessions for students, for both, those who want to apply for placements and also for those who want to pursue masters outside or inside India. They help us while giving information about examination, abroad universities and makes the whole process look easy.

Our campus is very small, it only has the one main building of the college, so we don't have any hostel facilities available in the campus. But outside the college, in the nearby area many PGs are available where students from far off regions can stay. The transport connectivity are very good. The Andheri and Vile Parle railway station, the Andheri metro station and the buses and auto rickshaws are available only at a few minutes of walk from the college. There is also a metro station in the pipeline coming up in the next few years near the college.

As I said there is only a main building and nothing else. So there is no space for sports activities. However there is space for parking and also there is canteen beside the main building. The canteen is very clean and hygienic. The prices over there are very less as compared to outside the college. But, there is a room for indoor games such as carrom, table tennis and also for dance practice. There are various seminar halls on each floor with all the luxurious facilities. The entrance lobby has ID card checker machines installed for attendance and entry in the campus. There are many labs for each subject with modern day technology and equipment all over.

As the cut off for our college is very high, thus the crowd is very intelligent and always engaged in doing some or other projects and gaining valuable skills. Thus, there is a lot of competition, which is a very good point. There are more than 15 clubs and student chapters in our college, which holds various events and activities throughout the semesters. This makes us excited other than studies. There are various environmental and society focused events held too, such as beach clean ups and blood donation camps, where our Principal too participates to inspire students for making an impact in the society. All the sports events are organized in JVPD ground near the college, in which the teachers too take part. Many celebrities come over to college to do promotions, such as Armaan Malik and Shark Tank's Anupam Mittal. These create hype for our college festival where students from all over the country come to participate. Many coding competitions such as hackathons are conducted. Technical and analytical games are organized every semester to upgrade the skill set of the students. Some of our events such as stage acts and dance competitions are held in the Mukesh Patel auditorium near our college. It feels very overwhelmed to be a part of such a great institute.
