VNIT Nagpur is one of the most emerging NIT among the top 10 NITs. The NIRF rank of our college is constantly increasing during the past few years. We have many major research projects been handled in the campus which have crores of rupees of funding. Our college has the best faculties after IITB. I gave JEE exam in 2019 with a dream of making it to one of the IITs, but unfortunately didn't, but fortunately got into NIT Nagpur. Every single thing in the campus is of high quality and is funded by the government. It is a dream college of lakhs of enthusiasts and I am glad that I am the one chosen. This college has given me more than I thought and have asked for. Apart from world class teaching, the memories I made here are invaluable. Students here have a great mindset and know what they want to do in their career and very well focused and passionate about what they are doing. This environment motivated me every single day I lived here.

VNIT Nagpur offers UG, PG and doctoral programmes all on one campus. By the way, I am in the elite chemical department of the college. I am graduating this year and fell very sad that I will have to take a leave from here. Talking about academics, they were very strict about it. There were two semester exams held every year and the papers were set by the faculties. The faculties set some of the most difficult papers. I remember that in my third semester the professor of one of our subject had set a paper which consists of some questions from the fifth semester, certainly the professor had warned us about that but we were busy chilling with friends and got very nervous before the exam. But finally we cleared it and restricted ourselves from backlogs as it would have become difficult for us afterwards. The companies who come for recruitment hate backlogs and never pick the students with one back too. We have a month vacation between two semesters where we can go to home or do internships.

The faculties of our college are one of the best in India. They are research scholars and PhD degree holders. They are the master minds of their fields. They are constantly doing projects and making history by their works. Some of them have been awarded with national awards and Best Innovator awards too. They teach us in a very inspiring way. Especially during the covid time, they helped me a lot as I was struggling to complete the assignments and was not able to focus in the lectures too as we were having a covid case in our house and due its tension. The faculties helped me complete the remaining curriculum and gain a strong grip on the concepts. They also gave me some trick shots to remember so that I can pass my examinations without a backlog. They are really very humble.

The training and placement department of our college provides us with a platform for using our technical acumen and gain industry experience. In fact, they were the one who helped me gain my first internship. They act as an interface for the companies looking for recruiting young talented graduates. They organize orientation programmes for placements, career guidance seminars for higher education in and out of India. I attended this seminar as I am applying for higher education outside India and had almost zero knowledge of what to do and how to do. They provided and guided me through all the application process and the examinations and universities for which I can apply. Talking about companies, the big names in the industry come for recruitment such as AppDynamic, Goldman Sachs, Deloitte and Uber. They offer some of the big packages in India. Many of them are international packages but only for the best minds on the campus.

VNIT Nagpur hostel has excellent residential facilities available. There are around more than a thousand students staying in the hostels at once. Separate hostels are there for both boys and girls. The boys’ hostel is a very spooky place at night to visit in the night for outsiders as we had partied so crazily in the hostel premises that even the warden had punished us many times. There are sports rooms, TV, telephone, medical and all other required facilities in the hostel premises. I was in the hostel student council and had many work to do such as organizing parties and events in the hostel and also seeing that they were better than other hostels in the campus so as to win the best hostel of the year award. It was amazing to be a part of such a college. The hostels have independent mess with all veg and non veg as well as jain food available. There were time tables for mess. Helpers and cleaners of the premises are also available for time to time cleanliness.

There are twelve hostels, many classroom halls, auditorium, amphitheater etc. on the campus. We had arranged some events in the amphitheater as I was in the dance and drama club of the college. We too organized a drama competition over there. There are many unique and expensive machineries and equipment in the labs that costs crores of rupees and are very high tech. There are many grounds for each sport. I used to go for badminton and cricket with my friends in the evening after our classes and lab sessions. Many tournaments of our college are held here. There is also a state of the art gymnasium.

I had a fantastic life here in this campus. I participated as well as managed and organized many events here. Our cultural fest is one of the main fest in central India and students from all over India come for participation. There are robowars, small fun games, concerts, technical competitions and many other events in our fest. These are the days for which we wait for over the year. Life full of thrill and enjoyment. Chief minister of Maharashtra also visited our campus for the fest once. I absolutely loved and was amazed when one of the members of the ISRO came over for a motivational lecture.
