JSS Academy of Technical Education B.Tech Review By Navneet Kumar

JSS Academy of Technical Education campus has 3 grounds, a Lake called Idly Lake, and other eye-catching areas. The campus is beautiful overall. It is a very calming experience to look at. It has a lot of greenery and is a soothing place to look at. The infrastructure is good, but if we talk about the campus life at the college, it is not that great. They usually have poor timing in conducting events and although they are the once that are responsible for organizing exams and all, I do not know why, always one or the other semester will have exams during the event. Hence, there will always be some students who will be panicking. Hence, the overall experience at the college is average.

The academics are also average like nothing is too nice but I guess they are trying to improve. Various subjects in college are being taught unnecessarily. Like the one that only requires mugging up of the data and has no creativity or problem-solving skills required. maybe all these subjects are essential for the future, but personally speaking, since it is affiliated with VTU, many useless subjects and labs are involved, instead, I believe that if they gave subjects according to the student's interest then there would be more development of the student.

Most of the faculty is highly educated and teaches well, but then some of them, despite having a good degree, their teaching style is horrible and you won't understand a thing they teach. Also, they will force you to write the exams exactly the way they taught or else they will award you with the minimum marks possible in VTU, scoring well in the externals is far hard than scoring in the internals, so when these teachers do not give marks because you learned from YouTube or some other book and not their notes, the overall CGPA gets highly affected.

Yes, we do have a Placement Cell on our campus and they do many workshops. My honest review as per how many I have attended, would be that whatever these workshops teach is already available on YouTube and in a far better way. So, I prefer taking all or most of my placement-related knowledge from seniors or YouTube.

We do have a girls and a boys' hostel. The girls’ hostel is located inside the college campus and the boys’ hostel is located outside, but not too far. I have heard that the food provided at the girls’ hostel mess has poor quality as compared to the food given at the boys’ hostel. Also, the boys’ hostel mess is not handled by the college so the quality of food is far better.

The best thing about JSS Academy of Technical Education is its infrastructure. It is a large campus and has two playgrounds. there is one large playground where cricket can be played comfortably, and then there is a small one for normal sports and all. The whole campus is filled with greenery and looks very pleasing. There are two shops also for basic snacks and all. Overall the campus and the infrastructure are nice.

There is one big fest that is conducted by the college and is famously known as Verve. It is conducted in even semesters each year and it is nice. Rest I think that the people who know the language have better options as compared to people who don't. They are the ones who are usually selected for most of the events. But still, it is fine. Not very good, one cannot expect much growth or good friends, just survival will be possible.
