MCKV Institute of Engineering B.Tech Review By Sneha Maji

I wanted to take admission in a college which is under MAKAUT. So I was looking for some good colleges. I also took suggestions from my school seniors and teachers. They recommended me this college. Then I gathered some information about the college and took admission. I always wanted to get admission into the technical department so I chose the Information Technology department. In first year we fall under the Basic Science Department. Then from second year we join our specific branches. All the teachers here are great. Along with academics we have many extracurricular activities at college. Our college has a Rotaract Club for social services. We also have our own Startup Club for students to know more about startups and entrepreneurship. Overall the whole atmosphere of this college is very friendly and comfortable. I want to add that we are the last batch under MAKAUT from this college now our college is autonomous.

As I am a student from the Technical Department I can give information about Information Technology or Computer Science department. I do not have that much knowledge about other departments. At first there is always a competition to get selected in the Computer Science or Information Technology branches. If any student has a good score in the 1st year then they can change their department to Computer Science or Information Technology.

In first year we have our Basic Science and Humanities Department's faculty. From second year we have our specific department's faculties. Some teachers are very close to us and we will keep contact with them in future also. They not just help us only in academics but also in many personal problems. As we studied two years online the teachers are also very good at online classes. We always have them for solving our doubts.

College has arranged many aptitude and coding classes for placements. 109% overall placement achieved in the year 2023. 138% Information Technology Placement and 151% Computer Science Placement achieved in the year 2023. I am not sure about other departments.

I didn't avail college hostel but as per what I have heard from my friends, the environment is good. The staffs are very cooperative and well-behaved. But the food quality is not that good.

College has a common library which is quite big. All types of subjective books are available there. We can issue books in every semester. Apart from that the CSE and IT department have their own departmental libraries. College has separate buildings for B.Tech and M.Tech or M.Sc. We also have different blocks for every department. There are cricket ground, football ground, and basketball ground available in our campus.

We have different types of clubs like Startup Club, Rotaract Club, Cultural Committee, and Sports Club. College organizes fest every year. It also organizes Fresher’s Party for the first year students and Farewell Party for the final year students. College organizes annual sports meet where technical and non-technical games are organised. Rotaract Club of the college takes part in different social and community based programs. Startup Club organizes many events which are taken by many entrepreneurs to inspire the students for starting their careers in those fields. Cultural Committee organizes many cultural programs during different occasions of the year. Overall this college equally maintains both academic and non-academic activities. Our college never pressurized us only for academics in fact they also equally prioritize non-academic extracurricular activities as well.
