MCKV Institute of Engineering Reviews on Placement, Faculty, Hostel by Students

MCKV Institute of Engineering is an autonomous college affiliated to the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT). Founded in 1999, it is situated in Liluah, Howrah. The campus, although small and situated right by the MCKV school, is pretty much open. Pollution can be a big problem as it is situated near industrial areas which bellow a lot of pollutants into the surrounding areas. Also, the college is pretty much accessible from pretty much all directions. By rail, one needs to get to Liluah station which is frequented by nearly all suburban trains (at times even galloping and express trains) to and from Howrah Jn. MCKVIE offers a variety of undergraduate courses including some specialized ones and also a few vocational courses and post-graduate courses of technology as well as management. I wanted to take admission in a college which is under MAKAUT. So I was looking for some good colleges. I also took suggestions from my school seniors and teachers. They recommended me this college. Then I gathered some information about the college and took admission. I always wanted to get admission into the technical department so I chose the Information Technology department. In first year we fall under the Basic Science Department. Then from second year we join our specific branches. All the teachers here are great. Along with academics we have many extracurricular activities at college. Our college has a Rotaract Club for social services. We also have our own Startup Club for students to know more about startups and entrepreneurship. Overall the whole atmosphere of this college is very friendly and comfortable. I want to add that we are the last batch under MAKAUT from this college now our college is autonomous.Read Full Review
