Is VSSUT really worth for B.Tech

Overall Rating
Well, congratulations, you get here by Merit. Although, you can't expect the experience like IITS, NITS or IIITS, but this is the first engineering college of Odisha. Electrical department of this college is worth to study. It has a good record of accomplishments in the years. The labs are very advanced like IITs.
 

Academics Rating
The lab is advanced and faculties are very intellectual. You will have 8 semesters as like all engineering colleges in India which provides B.Tech. But you can't leave all the syllabus on professors only, you have to give efforts from your side also.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty are good, but some aren't up to the mark . However, you will not face big problem related to faculty. You have to maintain 75 percent attendance to get a good impression. All books are available in library and you can also get s-books if you want. College is very disciplined on all aspects.
 

Placement Rating
Well, I know when a student is searching for a college, this criteria is necessary to explore. But if you are interested in a disciplined life + decent placement you can choose VSSUT. You will hardly find a student who continued the same company for 4+ years. Overall placement is good and it is improving every session.
 

Hostel Rating
As this is the oldest college in Odisha, hostel condition isn't up to the mark. But the renovation work is going on. Food is average like any other engineering college in India.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure is excellent but not like IIT or NIT. There is e- service center, auditorium, academic hall and everything that's needed in a college. Library is available 24×7. State government is investing 2000cr for development of infrastructure and to be honest it will take minimum 2 years for completion.
 

Campus Rating
Like every decent engineering college there is availability of playground, hostel etc. Fests are conducted timely to refresh the students for academics. Ragging is banned, but you must respect the seniors. All are cooperative and will stay with you in hard times (very less). So while making a friend you must ensure these criteria.

    In terms of money it's awesome. Faculties are doing well. Campus life will be memorable. Many view points are also nearby. Mess food is better. You have to adjust yourself according to routine. In terms of placements, core branch have better opportunity than CSE. Many food stalls are also available along the college sides.
