My Opinion on Assam University Silchar

Overall Rating
My overall experience in Assam University is good till now. I chose it because it is close to my house. The course chosen by me provide good knowledge about Medicines and Pharma industry. The infrastructure and facilities of this University is average. It is the only central University in Barak Valley which offers professional courses. It is a good University.
 

Academics Rating
My interest in medicine and the professionalism of the course that contributes in healthcare system motivated me to enroll in this course. For admission, the students must have Physics, Chemistry, and Math in their class 12th. There are total 3 exams conducted such as internal exams and a final end semester examination which is conducted at the end of the semester. The students have to qualify CUET exam and then apply through the University online portal. The academics make us industry ready.
The fee of my course in Assam University is Rs. 41,695 per year/-. It includes tuition fee, admission fee, and registration fee. The University does not provide any discount to the students. The students who belong from economically weaker section get the privilege to avail financial aid fund. Students of North East can apply for ISHAN UDAY scholarship from NSP portal.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members are highly qualified and have done their education from top Institutions such as BITS Pilani, NIPER Mohali, etc. Their method of teaching is very unique and they use black board method. They also use PPT and group discussion method. They problem solving ability of the teachers is outstanding. There are total 50 students in each class and there are 11 to 12 teachers in our department. My experience with the faculty members is good and they are easily approachable.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, the University has placement cell. It is average.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Our department has average infrastructure. The classrooms are not that huge. The campus has a library, Biodiversity park, and a healthcare centre. We also have a food centre which offers delicious fast food. The campus is equipped with CCTV camera. Overall, the infrastructure of this University is great.
 

Campus Rating
My campus life till now is amazing. There are various clubs such as Rotary club, Astronomy club, Quiz club, etc. There are many sports activities that are conducted such as Badminton league, Chess competition, etc. where affiliated Universities and other departments also actively take part. It conducts an annual fest called ‘Auskriti’ which is held for 1 week. Overall my campus life in Assam University is amazing.

    Assam University is a vast University based in Silchar. The people here are from different states and cultures which makes the University very diverse and interesting.     Overall, my two year journey at this University has been quite good. This campus is actually surrounded by trees which create a very peaceful environment.
