Overall Rating
When I decided to take admission in engineering college, I was searching for a good campus life college with average placement. Then I found JGEC. It is located in North Bengal. Campus view is really enjoyable. The college is nearby Highway so travel distance is also good. Around 2-3 km you there are railway station and bus stand also. As I am from Malda, I decided to take admission here.

Academics Rating
I am pursuing Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Information Technology. In this course there are 6 faculty members including head of the department. Information Technology is really a prestigious course in this college. Students take admission in Information Technology after Computer science though both are almost same according to placement and syllabus.

Faculty Rating
All the departments of Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College have more than sufficient well-educated hard-working faculty members. They are really so friendly with students. Here teacher-students bonding is really good, they help whenever needed in the study or also in personal life. And one thing also that whatever they teach us comes in exam from that only. So academic pressure is less in our department.

Placement Rating
Yes, our college have placement cell which is really too active for our best to best future. It is really so helpful for us.

Hostel Rating
Yes, hostel facility available in our college. There are 5 hostels, one is for girls and rest of four is for boys for each year. Hostels for each year students are different, so hostel is really enjoyable and free from so called ragging.

Infrastructure Rating
As a government Engineering College, college infrastructure is average, I mean you can't expect as of IITs of NITs. Campus academic blocks are more than enough for students. There is central library available where you can study. Also, library cards are given so that using that you can bring books to your hostel room or wherever you stay. There is bathroom. The college building is surrounded with lots of trees so less hot weather.

Campus Rating
I really love this institute because of its infrastructure, college life, and hostel life. There are many clubs where students take part to build more knowledge. Senior of 3Rd and 4th year teaches to junior students. There is drama, coding, travelling, Innovation dance, content writing etc. In our college two big fests are there that are JECLAT and SRISTI. SRISTI is a tech fest and JECLAT is cultural fest.

If you try to crack a good company so you should prefer Information Technology rather than CSE. Core department is not so good. And our alumni are very good and friendly. Striver is a good example for upcoming students. Because striver was a student of IT in our college. And our 7 alumni are present in ISRO.... Read Full Review

I am an IT department student; I chose this college because in this department very less classes are conducted which is a benefit for me because I get time to stay in room and focus on my coding.
