JGEC to pursue your career

Overall Rating
I am an IT department student; I chose this college because in this department very less classes are conducted which is a benefit for me because I get time to stay in room and focus on my coding. There is very less academic pressure which helps you a lot. As compared to private college fees is very less as it is a government college.
 

Academics Rating
Academics is good here; teachers are supportive they will solve your doubt. To get this college and this department you have to give WEBJEE after class 12 and get a rank around 3000 for general. There are 6 departments in this college. Almost 100% student get placed is IT and CSE and around 80% in another department. You can go for this college.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty is very good. They are well qualified as their college offers M.Tech also. They are very supportive and help you in all the way. As it an autonomous college all the power is the teacher hand, but they never show attitude of this power. I will advise you to go for this college as there is less pressure for academic.
 

Placement Rating
There is almost 100% placement is IT and CSE department and around 80% is another department.
 

Hostel Rating
There is total 5 hostels in college. One for girls and 4 for boys. There are different hostels for every year student (boys). Here you don't have to worry about ragging as you will get different hostel.
 

Infrastructure Rating
As it a government college and it is old, so infrastructure is not quite good. Some of the hostel condition is bad. But it is maintained regularly so its look good. Campus is so big, and it looks beautiful also as it is at the foothill of the hill. College building is as big as many classrooms remain empty.
 

Campus Rating
Here you have so much enjoyment. There are many places near to the college where you can go for tour with your friends like Gangtok, Darjeeling. In winter morning there is very beautiful view. There are many clubs in a college like sport, dance, drama, music etc. is which you can join to show your talent.

    If you try to crack a good company so you should prefer Information Technology rather than CSE. Core department is not so good. And our alumni are very good and friendly. Striver is a good example for upcoming students. Because striver was a student of IT in our college. And our 7 alumni are present in ISRO.... Read Full Review

    When I decided to take admission in engineering college, I was searching for a good campus life college with average placement. Then I found JGEC. It is located in North Bengal. Campus view is really enjoyable. The college is nearby Highway so travel distance is also good. Around 2-3 km you there are railway station and bus stand also.
