Overall, the LPU University is a good place to study especially if you are an all rounder. Apart from studies if you are looking to make your career into the field of Modeling, Singer, Aviation sector, Actress, Dancer, etc. or even if you are directly planning to get into Bollywood, then I believe it's an amazing university to pursue ahead. Even, the LPU was also ranked by the NIRF in the year 2020. It stands at the 99th position overall. The position was taken with respect to the previous 10 years' practical data. It was also ranked 78th with respect to other universities.
The Admission process to pursue your education in the university is pretty simple. You need some entrances to clear (To avail scholarship), and fill the long pages form, and pay the first semester fees to take admission. Overall, the college management is mind-blowing. From 600 Acres area management containing hostels, study blocks, libraries, parks, etc, to the small internal management like conducting international seminars from time to time, the university is just a pro at it.
Well, I joined the MBA (Hons.) course in the academic year 2015-2017. I actually went for the regular MBA program. But the counselors there are smart enough to engage your interest in something which least people choose. Post my counseling, I was told to clear the interview to be eligible for the MBA (Hons.) course. I got interviewed twice by the different faculties who were asking the questions out of the blue. Well, they were just checking my confidence, my General awareness, my hobbies, my passion, and why I want to go for an MBA (Hons.) instead of a regular MBA. They also have a beautiful scholarship program, where based on your academics marks, international participation record, ZEST Exam (conducted online, contains general knowledge questions related to books, computers, etc), you can avail yourself scholarships from the main semester fees.
MBA (Hons.) course was different from other courses with respect to the 'Business opportunity' subject they have. In this program, you get to open the real business within the campus with all the papers legal work which indeed makes you future ready to be an entrepreneur. Because of this reason I was fully convinced to pay an extra 10,000 and to go for MBA (Hons.) rather than a regular MBA. It won't be wrong to say that the course subject was as per my expectations despite me criticizing how workaholic it was! We used to have sessions till 8 pm sometimes to get extra lectures on resume building, creating linked in profiles, solving the case studies, and what not!. So yes, it was completely justifying the money I paid. Indeed the course, the knowledge you get is helpful to get yourself into the right platform. You will get to learn extra subjects, soft classes, you will be required to give presentations daily as per your turn in every subject. So, overall this program apart from working on the theoretical part will help you become a leader incorporates.
The experience with faculty I have had so far is good. They are experienced; they have down Ph.D.'s, so when it comes to knowledge, they are blessed with it. The total number of faculties for my course was around 15-20. Overall, the faculties in my college are more than 700+. Moreover, they use the practical ways of teachings, like classroom activities, daily presentations, case studies, etc. to groom you overall. They use real-time examples to make your future-ready from day 1. Except few, you will have good experience with the 90% of the faculties. They will teach you well, help you with your problems. They also teach you the ways of soft skills; conduct your many tests and mock interviews which looks like you are sitting in a drive for a placement. Such real-time efforts by multiple faculties are joining this university. Apart from this you can do with the course you choose, you will get help with that.
Faculties will correct you whenever you get wrong. They will try to show you the right career track, make you an individual who is confident about himself/herself. Marks given by the faculties are even, I mean I didn't face any partially based on favorite students. You get paid for whatever performance delivers. They also try to engage every student in the class such that everybody comes out to be the smartest in the room at the end.
The only thing I disliked about the Lovely Professional University is the placement. During my academic batch, 2015-2017, the highest package was Rs. 7 lakhs per annum which is a decent amount but not very decent for somebody doing an MBA (Hons.). The average package which most companies gave was between Rs. 3 lakhs - 4.5 Lakhs which is even more surprising. Another trouble was that if you have sat for one profile then you cannot try your luck in the other placement drive. So, ideally, if you got placed at Rs. 4.5 lakh package, then you become ineligible to sit in the drive giving the package higher than that, which was very frustrating as you get stuck because of this. Apart from this 80% of companies that came for the interview were for either marketing or sales. That means even if you have taken Retail, HR, Finance as the specialization, your chance of even attempting your luck in the drive gets reduced.
Moreover, I got placed for one of the companies which gave the decent package conducted 4 interview rounds, and then what happened after joining the company was a nightmare. It's about the reputation of the university, so I won't name that company. After joining that company in Delhi, we were made to work for 2.5 months, didn't get a salary, and the company came out to be a fraud. The only good thing that happened is that we got some sort of support from the university, they gave references, conducted our interviews, so I got placed in the good company, Mumbai location, and the things have been better since then. The overall thing I can say is that if you are looking for extremely good placements, then this university won't be a good option. Rest depends upon you.
The LPU hostel life is fine - not too great, not too bad. The interior of few hostels is not very satisfactory as per the money paid. The outer look is good but inside of few rooms isn't very comfortable in terms of wall paints, bed mattresses, cooler, etc. I paid almost Rs. 40,000/- for a year. The best thing is that girls' hostels and boys' hostels are far away. So, there is no need to worry about it. The garden outside the hostel is extremely beautiful. You can walk there, play badminton, basketball there. Or just roam as letting your wish. Generally, the standard time of accessing the garden area is 10:30 pm which is inside the hostel area. The hostel entry timing is 6 pm. Generally, an issue is created when you enter the hostel late until and unless your issue seems to be genuine. Rest depends on the bond you have with the warden. Secondly, the mess food is horrible.
Only breakfast seems to be fine someday but the rest of the time it's pathetic. Many girls in my hostel had food poisoning eating the food there. But the good part is that we have a pantry inside the premises of hostels where food is good, it's quite costly as compared to the mess charges but health is more important than money. Inside there you will get tasty Indian food, tea, snacks, all other essentials too which you normally require. Moreover, inside the hostel area, there is also attached ATM's which works 24*7. Girls can take a big sigh of relief because every hostel includes beauty parlors. Overall, security is there. Overall, the hostel has essentials including the laundry services, during my time it was Rs. 3000 yearly, the only drawback is the wall paints and matrices, but not for all the LPU hostel rooms.
Yes, the infrastructure of the Lovely Professional University is something that nobody can resist. It's beautiful in and out. This 600-acre structure is very spacious and nice. It's extremely large; it's like a whole city only. I didn't find any issues related to the infrastructure as such. It's very spacious. You will find a different block and multiple classrooms for every course. One building on average consists 6-8 blocks. The lift is always operative though because of the crowd you hardly get a chance to use the lift. There is greenery all around the infrastructure, which is amazing.
The premises are cleaned daily. In the rare case, if the projector of any class doesn't work, you will have enough vacant classrooms to use for conducting the particular session. There is a different block for hospitals, cafeteria, DSA - division of student affairs, where most of the inside events take place, etc. There is also a stage outside many blocks. This vast area makes it the perfect choice to conduct any activity and hanging out with friends. Overall, the infrastructure is extremely spacious and nice.
The campus life is great; it's the best thing about a Lovely Professional University. You will enjoy and miss campus life the most. You will find multiple food codes on the campus those are pocket friendly and yummy. There is a mall as well inside the University. It's big enough; it consists of dominos pizza, thalis, juices, shopping centers, deserts, and what not. You know what where ever you feel like roaming in the center you will find them something to eat nearby. It amazing actually, you will never run out of food inside the campus. There are extremely beautiful garden areas after every walking of 5-10 minutes. Couples and others generally sit there for group studies, celebrating birthdays, etc.
You will also have a huge big library which is so beautiful from the inside. You can find almost every book for your course inside that library, you will also have auditoriums, separate blocks for practicing dance, singing, drama, playing badminton, basketball, etc. But yeah, one thing to be understood here is that if you have a bunch of good friends, then you are going to enjoy the campus life a lot but if you are unable to make good friends then you will like you are lost somewhere in this big City. LPU is well known for conducting multiple fests like youth vibes, where even randomly you can go on the floor and showcase your talent. Overall, it's nice.

LPU is ranked as a top university on various fronts and after spending 3 years in Chennai, I actually regretted why I went that far. The reason for that is that LPU University has garnered many negative reviews but all of them are not true. It’s the largest single campus University as all the courses are in a same campus and the size of the campus is over 2 kms in whole. It is unfortunate the people of Punjab themselves spread the rumors that LPU is black-listed and it’s not worth but I will... Read Full Review
