National Institute of Technology B.Tech Review By Ashish Anurag

My overall experience at the institute is great; there is not much of a difficult for me to adjust in the college and hostels as I made many friends in the first week of college. Every information is provided to the students via emails and phone numbers so no one will suffer in finding anything. The hostel system is good as we live our first year with 2 other roommates so no one should feel lonely or experience their precious time with others. Teachers are also friendly so you can open up in class and get to know others. You can also experience many cultural activities and fests with your friends and even participate in them, join the clubs and societies and get to know new personalities. I choose this institute as it was best for me because it's in the same state, has good placement and internship reviews and good campus full of greenery. Others can choose this college as the environment in college itself is clean and beautiful. It has almost every facility that is needed by the students and has good academic results.

I have Computer Engineering course in NIT Kurukshetra, in this course many coding languages are covered with proper supporting subjects. Entry requirements for this course is students have to clear their JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) examination with the specific percentile to choose this branch, it can be checked whether you can get this course or not by applying in JOSAA. My motive for enrolling in this program is to learn coding and master a language which I can pursue on higher level and get placement from the college itself.

There are a lot of faculties available in the college for each subject, professors, assistant professors, scholars. There are faculties from different places in India, faculty members either lives in a hostel or in the house within college itself with their family. There is lab in charges and their assistant faculties as well. The style of teaching for most of the faculties is bookish; they consider teaching from a book, or some notes they already have. They provide us with assignments to be submitted within time of the syllabus they cover regularly in the class. Most of the subjects have their lab classes also to provide students with the practical knowledge as well. In lab students develops a project, software or practice codes and every lab has a lab teacher assigned to the students to guide them.

We do have a Placement Cell in our college; it really helps the students acquire jobs in the industry. Many companies come and choose students suitable for them such as Adobe, Microsoft, etc. There is a specific process for applying for a job in each company. CGPA and your skills matters the most in the interview process.

As for the infrastructure, the college took care of everything such as every branch has its own academic blocks such as Mechanical Department, Civil Department, etc. And there are 3 gates for entry and exit but 2 of them are mostly used. The college has 11 boys' hostel and 3 girls' hostels, hostel 1,2,3 is for first year students who just joined the college which consists of a larger room as 3 students' lives together in each room. Every room has almirahs and tables according to the number of students, other hostels rooms are smaller than this and only single person lives. There is a NIT market at the center of the campus. There is a 60-year-old main academic building adjacent to the market and a large sports ground, and a gym in the sports ground itself. Then the building in front of market is the building of national importance from which a long corridor also called infinite corridor is connected and the Electrical, mechanical and civil department are also attached to the corridor. These departments are of ground floor only except ECE, CS department. There is an open-air theatre in the college if we take left from the corridor with quality of 1000+ students and there are a lot of beautiful parks and areas to enjoy with friends. There is a lake in college itself which is a viewpoint for students. There are halls for seminars and events such as Jubilee Hall and senate hall. Campus area also includes homes of permanent facilities of the college and the director of the college offices for teachers and Scholars. Most the building are of same texture.

Campus Life in our college is good not great. There are timings for in and out for hostels for girls (8:30pm) and for first year students in our college, So they might cannot enjoy the fullest of a campus Life. Otherwise it is good; there are a lot of societies and clubs in our college related to cultural activities and academics as well, so any student can give the induction for the club they are interested in. Such as, Techno byte which is a stream specific society for Computer Engineering and IT students. I&E Cell (Industry and Entrepreneurship Cell) society for entrepreneurship related stuff, they conduct various seminars in the college itself and students can meet a lot of entrepreneurs. There are two main fests of NIT Kurukshetra which are Confluence and Techspardha (E-Summit), Confluence is conducted every year in which dance and singing performances are performed by the college students, there are 2 dance clubs in our college. And some guest performers are also invited to entertain us. While Techspardha includes a lot of events and prize pools. Every event has its own rewards or prize pools, any student can participate in events individually or in groups and people who cannot form a group can also participate, and the event coordinators make groups for them. So, we can get to know them make new friends. Some events are B-quiz, web hunt, Hackathon etc. In E-Summit 2023 Aman Dhatarwal came as a guest speaker and a large amount of crowd is gathered.
