Like any other IIIT the admission is done through JEE mains and JOSAA counseling followed by CSAB special round. After counseling the overall experience is okay, the seniors here are very chill and always ready to help. The college is situated at a very peaceful place and very close to tourist destinations like dharamshala and Shimla etc. Academics are given high priority here but still many sports event and extra-curricular event have been organised. Freshers have a separate hostel which is comparatively secluded, and seniors have two hostels which are near to the academic block. There is one cricket ground, one football ground, athletics track we lack swimming pool and few other things. Many companies visit the college and average package is pretty good considering the permanent campus was made just two three years back.

Academics are given special importance in our institute. For the first two years we have to study fixed subjects (different subjects for different branches) and in the third and fourth year we can chose the subjects we want to study and specialise in like cybersecurity, app development, Web development etc. There's also an entire semester dedicated to internship program and that's the sixth semester so that students can get industry experience too.

The faculties are quite qualified and many of them are pursuing their PhD here and also working as an assistant professor etc. They all teach well but understanding what's taught is a very subjective thing, so it depends on the student. The teachers are very friendly and always clear out doubts in class and we can also go in their cabin after classes to clear our doubts.

We have a Placement Cell in our institute, and it is good a very good job. The average package for last year was around 12-16 LPA and it's expected to increase this year.

The hostel and mess fee is around ₹43000 per semester. The hostels are new well built with tiles and everything, the washroom also have tiles and are cleaned on daily basis. We are provided with a cot, table and chair. We are not allowed to use any electrical appliances in the hostel room. We cannot bring extra furniture. One can be fined heavily for violating any rules. The rules and regulations are very strict here. Mess food is okay, it's not very bad but it is hygienic.

Permanent campus was built just two three years back so a lot of construction still needs to be done. Like we don't have a proper hall for gathering and we have small classroom not even the classroom with stairs. Rest of the things is fine we have labs for computer and electronics etc. The campus does not have a cafeteria.

Campus life is just decent. It is built in a very peaceful place there's very much greenery in the college campus. There are a few downsides as well like we don't have a cafeteria inside our campus and to see the first shop you need to walk around 1km, cycles or private vehicles are not allowed in the college. The college is outside the main city, but buses are available every 10-15 minutes so there's not much problem.
