IMI Kolkata Reviews on Placement, Faculty, Hostel by Students

I didn’t look beyond the B-Schools of Kolkata because the city of joy is one of the best when it comes to B-Schools. The likes of IIM-K, IEM, NSHM, CBS, and others have fully aided the students with cool placements and cool studies to look no further for PGDM or the MBA course. It’s a newer college as the college is barely a decade old and even in that a lot of changes happened just two years before I joined. The course changed, the campus redeveloped and some fresh legs in terms of faculties were roped in. The college has become one of the fastest moving colleges in Kolkata and it just shows you how much IMI has moved forward in such a short period. It would be a pain to which parts of the college I loved the most because academics was alright, the faculties were stupendous, placements outstanding, infrastructure mind blowing and the campus life was mind boggling. We got plenty of opportunities to get exposed to corporate culture as the college itself was no less than a corporate park.Read Full Review

IMI is a brand name when it comes to B-Schools and the stakeholders, i.e., Goenka’s are into education business for so long that student’s interest will always be kept first at their schools or colleges. IMI Kolkata was no different as it is relatively new but has grown leaps and bounds in recent past. IMI has their own entrance test and though easier than CAT/MAT or the other entrances one still has to crack it because out of 15,000 people that give the entrance of IMI, only 1200-1500 are selected including all three campuses, i.e., IMI Delhi, IMI Bhubaneshwar, and Kolkata. For Delhi one has to be at the top and therefore that was not possible for me. Among Bhubaneshwar and Kolkata campus, I chose Kolkata as Kolkata is a city where girls enjoy freedom and people don’t objectify girls. I am sorry sounding so feminist but from my eyes I see the world how I have been treated until I reached a certain stage. IMI Kolkata was one of the best things that happened to me as I could come to my own here and nobody judged me for that.Read Full Review

IMI Kolkata is a good college and mind you they have their own entrance too. The top scores of entrances go to IMI Delhi as that is a four-decade old institute while International Management Institute Kolkata is proportionally new. When it comes to education, the college is a dangerous outfit because the studies here are no less than any top B-Schools. The course is vast and plus we had to manage various other things at the college from events, to seminars, to workshops. Things were endless and time was limited as I still couldn’t figure out how my two years at IMI gone by. IMI has always taught us one thing and that is to play a situation out as many virtual situations were thrown on us and we had to find answers for that. There were many active clubs and perhaps the only source of unwinding because even though it was a residential campus, we had no rest available for us even after coming back from the classes spending 7-8 hours daily.Read Full Review
