Thapar University Hostel Fees: Rooms, Food & Rules, Patiala

There are approximately 17 Thapar University hostels inside the campus and are available separately for male and female students. Some of the hostels are ‘Ira Hall’, ‘Dhriti Hall’, ‘Vahni Hall’, ‘Tejas Hall’, ‘Ambaram Hall’, ‘Vyom Hall’, and ‘Neeram Hall’. More than 11,503 male and female students can be accommodated in the Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology hostels.

A number of facilities are provided to the students in the hostels of Thapar University including fully-furnished rooms (single, double, triple, and quadruple occupancies), hygienic food in mess & canteens, 24/7 security, common room with TV, sports, gymnasiums, etc.

The annual Thapar University hostel fees (including mess) are mentioned below:

• Girls Hostel: Rs. 1,32,800/- to Rs. 2,11,000/-
• Boys Hostel: Rs. 1,23,000/- to Rs. 2,11,000/-

The Thapar University hostel fees depend on several factors that include type of occupancy, accommodation, and washroom option chosen by the student. In order to create a peaceful and cooperative living space for the students at the hostels, the respective committee of TIET Patiala has formed several rules. Few of the hostel rules are as follows:

• Ragging, bullying, sexual harassment, and other such practices are considered as a criminal offence & strict actions will be taken against the guilty ones.
• Students need to be present at the time of roll call or attendance i.e., 8:00 PM.
• Male and female hostellers must report back to their respective residential blocks before the curfew timings that are 8:30 PM.
• Residents have to turn off the lights, fans, and other switches before leaving their respective rooms.
• Students can only occupy the rooms allotted by the authorities.
• Non-residents and day scholars are not allowed to enter the hostel rooms or premises.
• Students can keep valuable items or large amounts of cash at their own responsibility only. The hostel authorities will not be held responsible for any kind of loss of property.
• Male visitors cannot enter the female hostels and vice-versa.

Around 10 hostels for boys and nearly 7 residential buildings for girls are present inside the Thapar University Campus in order to offer a homely and safe environment to the students. Over 7793 boys can reside in male hostels and the accommodation capacity of female hostels is more than 3710.

Thapar University hostel rooms are available in single, double, triple, and quadruple occupancies with AC & Non-AC options. Also, students get an option of choosing rooms with either attached or common washrooms under some of the occupancies. Apart from this, basic amenities like beds, study tables, curtains, almirah, etc are provided to the students in their rooms.

Each hostel has a mess that serves hygienically prepared nutritious meals to the students at the specified time. Other than this, residents can fulfill their late night cravings through the canteens that are present inside the premises of Thapar University hostels.
