BMSIT&M Bangalore B.Tech Fees Structure 2026 & Admission Process

The course Computer Science and Business Systems (CSBS) is industry-oriented, blending technical knowledge with business applications, which is unique and in high demand as of the present industry scenario. Admission to BMS Institute of Technology and Management is based on KCET and COMEDK. The cutoffs vary every year but generally fall within the competitive range. Some students also get admission through management quotas, which have higher fees with no cutoffs. They conduct 3 internals and 1 external in one sem.

I got admission through KCET SNQ and since it is a fee waiver scheme, my fee for the 1st year was Rs. 32,000 only and for 2nd year, it was reduced to Rs.24,000. But the fees vary according to quota and based on the counseling type. Through KCET the fees might be less in comparison to COMEDK. The academics have Engineering Architecture, MBA, MCA, etc. The eligibility is being a science student of PCMB or PCME with 60 percent aggregate marks. The admission process is thorough KCET, Management, JEE and COMEDK. The admission process is through any of these exams. There are two internals for 40 marks each subject and a semester end exam see at the end of semester. The marks are taken like 50 marks from CIE (Written test, CCA- Continuous course assessment, lab marks). Academics help in acing challenges making it learn all concepts.

The fee depends if it is management then 2+ lakh per year. There is donation and it totally can cost around 30-50 lakh to complete engineering in CSE, ISE, AIML. The fees for KCET admitted students are 1 lakh+. The registration fees is around 1,000 or 1,500. There is special discount for KCET students of SC and ST category. I am currently a student of the ECE stream. The cut off varies for different streams. The eligibility for the management quota must cater to 60% in your +2 exams from the physics, chemistry and maths background. For ECE, the CET cut off varies from 6300 for general category and might range up to 20000 for SC AND ST categories. COMEDK ranks might range up to 4500 for the general category and 30000 for the SC and ST categories. Coming to the course, ECE is a versatile course.

The reason why I joined this course is because even if I change my mind of joining a software genre in the later point of time, I will have the freedom to drift from electronics to software. With the increase in the field of robotics and automations, electronics and communication is in great demand. Even in the civil service protocol, ECE finds itself in great interests. This also covers the majors of all the other branches and this is vital. But this does not happen in the other branches as such. Honestly speaking about the expectations, the VTU curriculum didn’t match my expectations. The syllabus is quite old and outdated and does not cater to vocational and technical standards. But if you would want to focus on the pros, our college drives through concepts like Project based Learning, field trips, well maintained laboratories and much more. The subjects on a heavier scale and interesting and some of them are quite dry but that depends on your inclination to the course. Coming to the job aspect, I am a 100% sure about placements with the growing demand and the exposure given by my college and of personal interests. If not for electronics, the software sector is the way to go.
