I pursued B.Com (Hons.) and it is considered one of the best Colleges for Commerce students in Kolkata. It is a well-reputed College and the course adds a great value if you want to pursue masters degree after this. The admission process for College is online. Students need to fill out the admission form and submit it. Once merit list comes out, make sure to pay the fees on time to be enrolled. Frequency of exams was good. We had 2 semester exams in one year. First, we had to give internal exams, which were soon followed by main theory exams. The academics prepared us in a great way. It is helpful especially for people pursuing master’s degree.

Since I took admission during the old curriculum, I don't think whether it'll provide helpful information about the new curriculum. The course structure for us had every subject starting from the basics of Corporate Accounting, Taxation, Financial Reporting and many more.

The course B.Com (Honors) provides two specializations, one in Accounting & Finance and the other in Marketing. Up to 4th semester the syllabus for both is the same and 5th semester onwards you can choose your specialization. The college has both morning and evening batches for the course; you can choose what is best for you and fill the form accordingly. The curriculum followed for this course is specified by the University of Calcutta as the college is affiliated under the same. The syllabus is very vast, insightful and may appear challenging for some students to complete it within a semester. A semester is typically of six months, with exams held at the end of each semester. Each subject is of 100 marks, 80 being external and 20 being internal. The course also includes various projects and researches throughout the semesters. To enroll in this course, first you have to fill up the form in the college website. Few weeks after which the merit lists will be published. If your name appears in the merit list you can proceed further to the admission and fee payment process. The cut-off is generally around 80%, but different merit list is published for the SC, ST and OBC students. If you want to explore the field of finance or marketing then you can opt for this course. Also, for those students who want to pursue CA / CS / CMS alongside their graduation, this course is a suitable choice as the syllabus is similar to an extent. This college ranks among the top commerce colleges in Kolkata.
