Utkal University, Bhubaneswar provides accommodation to both boys and girls separately. There are around 13 hostels inside the campus of the University; 6 for boys’ and 7 for girls’. The University provides several amenities at the hostels to provide a homely atmosphere to the students who are living away from their homes to pursue their higher studies.

The Utkal University has formed some rules and regulations for the hostellers to ensure proper functioning of the hostels. Breaching rules might lead to serious consequences like suspension, rustication, etc. Some of the important rules are mentioned-below:

• Gates of girls’ and boys’ hostels shall be closed at 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM, respectively.
• During the study hours i.e., from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, hostellers should be in their respective rooms and maintain silence. Strict actions will be taken by the authorities against students who are found disturbing others by shouting, singing, or by any other misconduct during study hours.
• Use of any electrical appliance like heaters, induction, etc. within the hostel rooms are strictly forbidden.
• Damaging or removal of hostel property like furniture, lights, etc. is against the rules of the University.
• Consumption of alcohol, drugs, and any other intoxicants are strictly prohibited inside the hostl premises for the students..
• Students are not permitted to leave the hostel without the permission of competent authorities.

At the Utkal University Bhubaneswar Campus, approximately 13 hostels are available for both boys and girls. For the safety of the residents, the University has taken all the security measures like 24/7 security and CCTV surveillance.

The Utkal University hostel rooms are designed with all the required facilities to provide comfortable stay to the students. Mess facility is available at all the hostels of the University to provide nutritious and hygienic food to the students.
