SJES College of Management Studies Reviews on Placement, Faculty, Hostel by Students

The institute was established more than a decade back. I am positive only from the end. There are 2 kinds of MBA offered here one is an MBA in General and the other one is an MBA in Aviation and Logistics. The college also offers a regular UG course in that and that’s an area where the college has done well. The students who did UG from SJES are given first preference in admission to their Aviation Program. Thus, I was left with the option of joining MBA General. Placements for MBA General weren’t bad. But one drawback is that the college is on Madras Road so opting for a hostel becomes mandatory here. Some other cons are that internship opportunities were provided. Bangalore is a city where education is different from the rest. SJES may not be one of the best colleges going around because the admissions are easily available and placement are more or less given, SJES may not be a bad option either. It’s a two-way sword because if you have failed to get placements from UG and also if you haven’t scored well at the entrances to get in colleges like Christ University, St. Joseph's Institute of Management or the others, SJES or such colleges remains the only option. Enough of it as SJES was great and provided us an education that has not just helped us have a campus placement but also empowered us in many ways. The college may not demand high discipline but it didn’t have enough leeway either. I don't believe in sugar-coating things as I have been a little critical of my previous College SKIT Jaipur too. If you have attained good percentiles in CAT, XAT, MAT or others, try to find a better option than SJES as SJES is far from the definition of best. This is true, but this is half the picture. Why does one do an MBA? To get placed in an organization which otherwise, he/she can't. SJES provides you that opportunity. Placements may not be 100% and I will again not fathom about it, but everyone was treated equally and trained like others to find a job through campus placements. Those who lack confidence will find it hard to get placed. I wish I knew this before because during my interviews after engineering this was one attribute that I lacked and SJES got monkey off my back by making me confident enough. There's a reason why students from all across the country come to Bangalore as Bangalore city will make a person confident enough as lowest of lows and highest of highs are a significant part of College life in Bangalore.Read Full Review
