Established in 1984 as Vellore Engineering College, VIT Vellore was granted the University status in 2001. The Deemed-to-be-University is located at Vellore, Tamil Nadu. It is approved by UGC & AICTE, and recognised by BCI & Council of Architecture (COA).

Note: Apart from the aforementioned eligibility conditions, Indian students / NRIs / OCI / PIO Holders are eligible to apply. Additionally, for UG programs & MBA program, 10% relaxation in marks in the qualifying exam is given to students belonging to SC / ST categories and those hailing from Jammu & Kashmir / Ladakh & the North Eastern States.
*For Undergraduate courses, students who have qualified 2-year Pre-University Examination / High School Certificate Examination at the Advanced (A) Level of the Cambridge University / International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva / other equivalent are also eligible.
* For the above-stated PG programs, students who are appearing in the respective final exam are also eligible to apply.
Admission Process
Eligible & interested students can register for the preferred course on the official website of VIT Vellore. Post this, they have to fill-in the application form, pay the requisite application fee, and appear for the VIT Vellore entrance exam 2025 (if applicable). Students’ submitted applications will be verified & a rank list will be announced based on the eligibility / marks secured by them in the respective exam.
Students are then required to attend the online counseling & provide a program wishlist (if applicable). Provisional admission will be granted to the selected students and they will be offered the admission seats after document verification payment of the requisite VIT Vellore Fees.

The Career Development Centre (CDC) at the Deemed-to-be-University is responsible for providing guidance to the students & adequate resources to aid their professional development. The CDC has tie-ups with various companies to facilitate VIT Vellore Placement opportunities to the students.
Moreover, there is a Career Counselling & Higher Education Cell (a unit of CDC) which provides counseling to the students and helps them select a suitable career path.
