Life at University of Allahabad, Allahabad

Overall Rating
Well, honestly I choose this University because somehow I did not have admission to University of Delhi and I applied only for these two so I've no other choice. It doesn't mean that my experience is not good; yeah initially questions come to my mind like how's the college environment because of location east UP. But it's totally opposite the city is great, University campus is great, faculty is well educated.
 

Academics Rating
My course is Master of science in Materials science. It’s an interdisciplinary subject like mixture of STEM. No specific requirements, it’s totally depends on your interest and to eligible you've to graduate from any recognised university and appear for the university entrance test that is PGAT. My motive was simply my interest in materials science as its very diverse scope for job in future.
 

Faculty Rating
As I already mentioned about faculty that the entire faculty are well educated and recruitment is going all the way from last year. The entire faculty is doctorate from foreign universities, IITs, NITs, other Central universities or institutions. The teaching experience I would say is diverse like old professors and new recruited professors work together.
 

Placement Rating
This is not the best part of our university because I don't see any placed student who bags huge package as compared to other Central Universities. There is a Placement Cell and companies come to recruit but limited students get offer with low packages.
 

Hostel Rating
Many university hostels available, and allotment is through entrance exam cut-offs.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure is great not in the sense of modern buildings but in the sense of historical buildings because this University operates from 18th century so you can call monuments. Wi-Fi available in every corner of campus, green campus, water coolers, etc. And two or three new modern buildings are under construction as well. So in future modern building will be there too. One thing I don't like that is no canteen inside the campus. You've to go outside the campus for snacks and all.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is great as one cricket, football, hockey, etc. stadium available and 5 courts including badminton, basketball, tennis, and table tennis as well. Crowd is decent because now students are from every state of the country especially in graduation after admission through CUET. No annual fests at all. Government funded events happen every month.

  • Good place to take admission.

    My overall experience with this university is good. As it is one of the most renowned universities in Prayagraj and also fee is affordable. You can get the facility of hostel too for an extra charge, but I will personally suggest going for PG, instead of a hostel, as the hostel facilities are very poor.... Read Full Review

  • The university is good in terms of infrastructure, education, and extracurricular activities, but there are some negatives as well which you need to consider before taking admission here.
     

    Overall Rating
    My overall experience is good. I took 1.5 years of online classes due to COVID-19. But online classes were also good and they were conducted in a very well-planned manner. Offline classes were also good. Here you can take admission to the Bachelor of Arts course if you are interested in preparing for exams like UPSC, PCS, VDO, etc. As most of the students have such goals, so you will get a good environment....     Overall Rating
    It is India's 4th oldest university after Calcutta, Bombay, and Madras. It has long historical, political and academic legacy. This university provided education to many eminent people e.g. –Pt.     I am here because University of Allahabad is very close from my house in comparison to other colleges, its fees is also very low and its infrastructure is top in comparison to other colleges. Currently I am doing B.Sc from Allahabad University. I will also do M.Sc from the same college. Taking admission here is not very difficult so I will suggest everyone to take admission here....
