Overall Rating
The campus of institute is huge, approx. 300 acres and full of greenery. The ranking of this institute is 2nd among NITs and 10th in engineering institute and it has beach so you can enjoy during weekends. The weather of Surathkal is very sunny. College is located near coastal region. As this college is good in placement and research so it is good for doing graduation.
 

Academics Rating
College is good in academics. For enrolling JOSSA counseling take place after JEE exam. Various subjects according to our interest we can choose. Various subjects like data structures and algorithms, artificial intelligence, etc. elective subjects that have to be taken by us in 3rd year are necessary for credit requirement.
 

Faculty Rating
In the college we have good faculty. They are masters in specialised courses like structural analysis and wave mechanical optics, fluid mechanics, numerical methods, design of RCC Structures, and surveying labs. These are very important subjects we need to become a successful engineer. Faculty is very supportive and helpful. They have very good knowledge in subjects.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, in our college a Placement Cell (Career Development Centre) is located by which placement take place. Highest package of college in NITK is 56 LPA. Average package of college in NITK is 15 LPA. Student can choose his career in research and do MS / M.Tech also as it is good college.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, residential facilities are available in our institute. There are 7 boy’s hostels and 4 girls’ hostel. Hostel life is good and there is common room located in hostel in which students can play Table Tennis, Carrom, and watch television. Holi, Diwali, and various festivals are celebrated in our campus.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure of college is good as this is 60 years old college and still in good condition. We have many hostels like Brahmagiri, Godavari, Shivalik, Sahyadri, Satpura, Nilgiri, Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati. We have sports complex and volleyball court, basketball court, tennis court, and swimming pool is also located. Campus life is awesome as students can walk in campus in night and there is plenty of lights are available. Many students play sports in nights also.
 

Campus Rating
We have India’s second best cultural fest like incident, engineer, beach events, artistic events, slam dunk event of basketball, coliseum, etc. We have night canteen as this is very helpful for enjoying student life and eating late at night. Various types of technical and non-technical clubs are present for students. They can participate in any type of club like IEEE, ISTE, Yoga, and ACM, students can join according to his interest. Crowd is amazing in college, approx. 4000 students are studying.

    NITK Surathkal is one of the most precious institutes. After admission, I love it very much. Firstly, the infrastructure is superb. The academic structure is also very good and is upgrading day by day with this modern world. The fee structure is very affordable. One special factor is that it has its own private beach.     I am currently a 2nd year student in B.Tech EEE branch at NITK. So coming into this institute was never decided. The story begins with a student preparing for IIT did well in MAINS have CRL 7384 but then bored and messed up in ADVANCE and ends up with a bad rank. From the ADVANCE rank I was not able to get to a good IIT so decide going for NIT instead.     NITK is the second ranked NIT after NIT Trichy. Its teachers, alumni and students make it a college worth studying in.
