National Institute of Technology B.Tech Review By Saim Jawed

It has been 1 year since I joined this college. I secured 98.8 percentile in JEE Mains and since I live in Patna this was the closest college to my house so I chose this college. Moreover, it is one of the oldest colleges of India. My experience in this past 1 year has been very positive. The seniors are friendly, ragging is nonexistent, faculties are very qualified, and the placement is better than average. This is the best college for someone who lives in Bihar. It is located in the hearts of Patna near the Ganga river which gives it a very good scenic aspect.

I have joined the CSE department. To secure a seat in CSE, one should have to secure at least 98.5 percentile as a general student. If you are of OBC, 98 percentile are required, if you are from SC / ST95 percentile shall be enough. CSE is a buzzing field nowadays so I chose this since it has the most number of jobs available to enable a secure future and also because I have been studying about programming languages such as Java since my school days as we had Java in our course.

The faculties are very qualified. Some of the teachers who taught us are among 2% of the world's top scientist like JBM sir who taught us Digital electronics. Also MTU Haider sir who has an experience of 28 years of teaching , and others who have been the students of universities like IIT Kharagpur, MIT, Cambridge, and other renowned universities. Their style of teaching varies but most of them teach very clearly. Although some of them don't teach that well. But the overall experience is satisfactory.

We do have a Placement Cell in our institute. They are the coordinators between companies and students and ensure a smooth recruitment process. They constantly post about the companies coming to campus and their eligibility criteria’s. Our average package for CSE is 14.3 LPA. And that for overall branches is 8.9 LPA. The placement percentage is also above 80%.

Our college has multiple hostels for both boys and girls. The boy’s hostel includes Brahmaputra, Sone, Kosi hostels, and Ganga hostel for girls. The Sone and Kosi hostels are very old but they have decent infrastructure whereas Brahmaputra and Ganga hostels are very new and are as tall as 9 floors and have very good infrastructure. The hostel students regularly organize various events like sports and movies to watch together. The hostel food is okayish not very good not very bad but it will suit better to people with bihari pallette. We also have a faculty quarter area where the entire Ph.D and faculty member have their own flats allotted.

Our campus has various building for different branches. It also has various labs like physics, chemistry, electronics lab, and workshops like mechanical workshops. It also has a tinkering lab and Incubation centre. We also have a SAC (Student activity centre) where we have our table tennis court badminton court squash court and cafeteria. We also have basketball court and football ground and volleyball court. Apart from all that we have an Amphitheater for all the outdoor events and multiple conference halls for indoor speeches, award ceremony, etc.

Our college has various events organized throughout the year. Corona and melange is a major event organized in the month of October And Techno cultural fest in December which includes all the clubs where every club organizes some events and the students participate in it. We also have intramurals sports festival which is organized in February in which students from each department face off in individual and team based sporting and athletic events. Apart from all this we regularly have study jams and fun based events organized by clubs throughout the year.
