The admission to NIT Calicut, like all other NITs, takes place on the basis of JEE Mains entrance examination ranks. The counselling process is done through JOSAA portal. We are supposed to give our preferred colleges and courses, and the best choice for our rank is then allotted to us. This year, the cutoff for NIT Calicut was higher than the previous years, due to the higher demand and competition among the students. One can also avail of their respective reservation benefits in the admission procedure. About 50 per cent of the seats are reserved for the students from the home state, ie., Kerala.

The faculties at NIT Calicut are renowned for their exceptional qualifications and expertise in their respective fields. Yes. We do have a well-renowned placement cell in our institution. It has helped students in acquiring well-paid jobs in their fourth or final year of study. NIT Calicut has steadily recorded about 90 per cent placement every year. The average package is around 11-12 lakhs per annum. Many well-known companies like Microsoft, Bosch, Micron, etc participate in our placement drive every year.

Yes. We have many hostels for both girls and boys in our institute. A few of them are within our main campus itself, while the rest of them are at walkable distance. The hostel facilities provided here are pretty decent. Most of our hostels are very old buildings with just the basic necessities, except for the newly constructed mega hostels for girls and boys. All hostels have adjoined recreational facilities like, a gym, basketball courts, badminton courts and indoor sports complexes.

Being a college with a rich history, most of the infrastructure and buildings are very old buildings. Some of them are well maintained, while the rest are kind of neglected. The campus is filled with lush green trees and plants everywhere. It is very refreshing to spend the evenings surrounded by the natural beauty of the campus. This is definitely one of my favourite parts of the college!

We have a very rich and vibrant campus life. We have various cultural, extracurricular, and sports activities taking place now and then within the campus. The biggest and most celebrated among them are our two fests- Tathva, our technical fest, Ragam, and our cultural fest. These are among the biggest college fests in South India. Many of these events did not take place this academic year due to various issues within the campus. Hopefully, they will be held again in its full glory in the coming years.
