ITER: One of the Best Private Engineering Colleges in Odisha

Overall Rating
I joined Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), SOA University, Bhubaneswar in 2012 after completion of high school. It is one of the best private universities in not just Odisha but in entire East India. The college is ranked 21 according to NIRF. The admission was straight forward and easy. My experiences in all four years were positive. I made some great memories and friends. In my opinion, ITER should be the go to university for all students who want to pursue a career in engineering.
 

Academics Rating
I enrolled in Electrical and Electronics Engineering as it was the most sought after programme during my time. One can go either into core electrical sector or join the IT sector after completion of the programme. ITER conducts its own entrance exam and to get EEE branch one has to get a rank of at least 500-1000. Anyone having 60% or more in 12th is eligible to join the programme. Apart from EEE, ITER's CSE branch is one of the best in East India.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty to student ratio was 5:50. The faculties were highly qualified and trained. Most of the faculty had Ph.D from top IITs and NITs of India. They were really helpful with the students and cleared all our doubts. I liked the style of teaching of faculties where they acknowledged every student irrespective of their background or how good they are in studies. Students were able to access faculties in their chamber after college hours too if they had any doubts. The lab faculties were highly qualified too.
 

Placement Rating
The college had one of the best placement records in Odisha. Almost 80% of all students were placed in various companies. Yes, we have a Placement Cell at our institute. The placement cell helps students apply for various internships, educates them, and guides them about what jobs one should seek. Placement Cell also provides soft skills and interview training to students. The mock interviews were really helpful during job placements.
 

Hostel Rating
There are separate hostels for boys and girls. The capacity is around 2000. The hostel rooms are spacious and AC rooms are also available. There are individual and mass washrooms, laundry services, canteen, and small library inside the hostels for students. When it comes to recreational activity, the hostels have indoor sports rooms like badminton, chess, carrom, etc. and outdoor sports facilities are close to the hostels inside the main campus. The hostel life was positive overall.
 

Infrastructure Rating
ITER had one of the best infrastructures in the city. The academic blocks were modern and spacious with well ventilated rooms. There were AC classrooms equipped with state of art facilities. The buildings had lifts. The library inside the college was one of the biggest in the state. All kind of books were available. There was a digital section where students could access thesis and online articles inside the library too.
 

Campus Rating
The campus was lively throughout my four years in the college. One can find all kind of crowds inside the campus. The campus was active till late evening every day. There are different clubs like robotics, dance, DIY, programming, drones, etc. Every student was encouraged to enroll in a club of their choice. Our college had fests once every year. It was a grand fest and different famous celebrities were invited to attend it. There were film festivals throughout the month too.

    So the reputation of this college is good. The entrance exam (SAAT) is easy and this college provides a wide range of courses from engineering to medical. Currently I am studying Bachelors of computer applications and the faculty is better than most colleges in Odisha. The environment is pretty good with a big area is provided.     SNIL is a good institute for studying law. There are many courses for students to join. Teachers and management is remarkable. Campus is big and well managed.     Institute is great. The infrastructure is good. The way of teaching is much better. There are many options for the branch and course which you would want to prefer.
