LPU B.Tech Review By Ankur Verma

Overall, my experience in LPU is good. It provides lots of opportunities for students. Its major focus is on skill development and building a student's personality which is essential for placement perspective. LPU also provides the opportunity for students to study abroad which I think many government and private universities does not provide. I choose this college because its fee is cheaper than other private universities. In private and other universities there is a criterion for scholarship that if we do not maintain 8+ CGPA in all semesters then the scholarship will be cancelled. And if you study hard then you will easily get the placement as many seniors have got placed in big companies. So, if you are thinking to come to LPU then the first think you have to know is that you have to be consistent in your studies and be competitive to get a good package from the university.

There are several courses which are offered in LPU. Since, I choose B.Tech in Computer Science. I will tell you about the same. So, there are currently 6000-7000 people in first year pursuing B.Tech in Computer Science. In the first you will be taught about some basics of Computer Science principles, programming languages such as Python, C and JavaScript and some subjects like Electronics, Mechanics, Communication Skills, and Software Engineering And Environmental Studies. From the second year, the main subjects of computer science start. If you want to come to LPU then you should know that the minimum eligibility criterion is 60% in 12th. You can come to LPU in three ways. First by giving LPUNEST exam which is totally MCQ based with no negative marking. The questions asked in the exam are of board level so you can easily score good marks. Also you can get scholarship based on the marks obtained. I also gave LPUNEST exam to come to LPU. Secondly, if you have scored 85% or more in boards then you can get direct admission to LPU with some scholarship benefits. Thirdly, if you have cleared any competitive exams like JEE then you can get direct admission with huge scholarship benefits.

My review for the faculty is mixed. There are some teachers which are very good in teaching. They know well about their subject and their style of teaching is simply awesome. They can make you understand a particular topic or concept in number of ways. But there are some teachers who doesn't know much about their subject and simply come to the class and start teaching very fast. If we ask anything to them, they get angry on us.

Yes, it has a Placement Cell. As per my knowledge, many of the students are able to get good and handsome packages. The only think is that you have to study very hard and make some decent projects as the competition is so much as there are lot of students in the university pursuing the same course. You also have to maintain your CGPA of 7.5+ to get seated in all the placement drives.

Yes, there are hostel facilities. The infrastructure of hostels is good you can live a pretty decent life in hostel. If you face any issue like AC/cooler not working, chair broken etc. then you can complain about the same and the issue will get fixed in 2-3 days without giving any additional charges. Laundry facilities are also there if anyone wants to take. The only bad aspect is that the mess food provided in the hostels is not that good. Sometimes they make very tasty food and sometimes they make worst. So, keep this in mind if you want to take the hostel.

The infrastructure of the campus is very large, greenery and beautiful. For different courses like Computer Science, Agriculture, Law etc, there are different buildings. There are two big auditoriums in the campus. Also, the library of the campus is simply awesome. You can stay in the library up to 12 am. All the classes are air- conditioned but in many classes, you will find broken seats. The buildings maintain a very high standard of cleanliness. There is also a big mall where a variety of things are available. Also, there are various canteens and food stalls.

Overall, the campus life is good in LPU. The atmosphere of the campus is decent, and the seniors are very friendly. If you face any problem, you can take advice or suggestions from them. They will easily solve your doubts. There are many clubs in the university like coding ninjas club, Microsoft club, Google development student club etc. You can also do a part time work in the clubs to earn money. There are many hackathons, webinars, workshops and quizzes that are frequently conducted in the university to grow your knowledge. Also, various fests occur inside the university like the recent fest which was organised is ONE INDIA. Many times, some renowned Bollywood personalities visit LPU. So, you also get the opportunity to see them face to face.
