Bennett University MBA Review By Kartik Dhingra

Bennett University is owned by Times Group and is a newly established university. As of now, Bennett can be called but definitely not great. The students that were there had no choice but to choose a private university that doesn’t have any strong criteria for admissions but had the bank balance to pay the hefty fees. The college has Times group backing and therefore the quality of the education was next level without a doubt. Placements are still not the strongest point of the college but college does manage to place students. Times group have friends in corporate who come and give guest lectures and also make their presence felt during the placements. Peers were great at least in my batch and that pushed me to be productive and grasp as much as I can. MBA students and engineering students work hand in hand for the college competitions and events. One thing that stood out for the university was that it was stable and opportunities for growth were provided immensely. Bennett University has kept their maximum focus on education and so the placements which are average till now will get better in future.

The university is young but academics seem like far aged. The system, strictness, and the classrooms and other facilities of the university were more than comprehensive. MBA doesn’t only have theory classes but had almost equal number of practicals. We were sent on industrial visits and assignments submissions were like journey to hell. They never ended and if not submitted on time, the university has laid some serious punishments and not in the form of fine. Thus, one has to show grit as much as the college shows towards education.

Being student friendly is one thing and being hard working is another. The university faculty had both these qualities and they were simply amazing. All were hired who had nice teaching experiences as some of the faculty had experience of teaching in IIMs and XLRI. More than experience it was their wealth of knowledge because the professors were not much aged. I was in a way fed up of seeing old faces in professors. Experience counts but latest trends do have their value. Almost all the faculty besides teaching experience has industrial work experience too. Some of the faculty were from Gujarat and has worked in some of the top industries of Gujarat.

Placements started early and that gave us a security that we have job in hands and all we need to do is study hard, submit the assignments and pass the exams. The placements were done soon after the second year started and companies like Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, Kotak Bank, HCL, Cognizant, and Deloitte Careers were among the top recruiters. It’s not IIM or XLRI where student gets placement worth 10 lakhs and above. The job profile remained the same as the students of those colleges get but salary probably half.

Since the university is new, the operational hostels among boys were 4 and if one wants to set an example on how the residential facilities should be then they should see the Bennett University. The rooms were clean as a whistle and the furniture in the rooms was exemplary. The rooms also had ACs and most importantly single rooms were available for MBA students. The hostel has countless facilities and the common room was like a 5-star hotel recreation room as it had some Table Tennis tables, carrom boards, and right outside the hostel wing was a beautiful basketball and volleyball court. The food at the hostel was rich people food as in breakfast we got cornflakes and sprouts. Like lunch and dinner menu too were exclusive.

The university is still not entire built and once that happens it will be the best-looking university in Greater Noida. The university is also the largest in the region with spreading in an area of 70 acres. The buildings are lavish and management school building is better than the engineering ones. Our building had all the required labs, a small seminar hall and common areas for both boys and girls. There were 2 tea/coffee vending machines in our building. Among all the facilities the sporting facilities of the university needs some extra attention. To start off there’s a pool which is double the size of Olympic pools. Indoor basketball and badminton court. The badminton court is of Astro turf on which the professional athletes play. There are 2 squash rooms as 1 is for boys and 1 for girls. There are 2 outdoor fields which were used for playing cricket, football or other sports. The recreational rooms had royal snooker tables, super comfortable couches and table tennis tables. Many other facilities like shops, food courts, and ATM was at the building stage till 2019.

If you take general consensus, engineering and management students hardly go well with each other. However, at Bennett student relationships was a thing to watch. Mostly all coming from a nice background and students who have studied in hostels throughout. The college students participate in various competitions all across the country. Everything was fair and square at the campus and life therefore was much relaxed.
