DU, one of the premier central universities located in the Heart of the Capital of India, New Delhi. It is spread over 75+ colleges across the North Campus and South Campus. The starting point of the North Campus starts with the Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College. It has the shortest distance from the nearest metro station, Vishwavidyalaya with a walking distance of 5-7 minutes. It's a Sikh Minority College. Overall, the college ambience is really versatile. The college’s teaching and non-teaching staff is really coordinating and cooperative. Its competitive college societies and their functioning make it unique and glorify its fame. The auditorium and sports ground are iconic, being one of the best in the whole DU. The classes are really comfortable with ACs in each class and the quality of the seats are literally awesome. The natural environment is so soothing that one can lie there all day chilling with friends, without getting bored. It has a beautiful botanical garden, basketball court, Nescafe garden and library providing the best experience to the students.

The Commerce field has two courses specifically B.Com (Hons.) and the B.Com program, another business course includes BBA. The Arts field has Bachelor's Hons. courses in Economics, English, Hindi, History, Punjabi and Political Science. The B.A. program course has various combinations that are offered. The Science field offers Bachelor's Hons. courses in Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and other B.Sc. program courses. Various foreign language courses are also offered like Korean, German, Italian, Russian, etc. By NEP the college admission is based on CUET, the Common University Entrance Test. It is Merit based and also considers the ECA quota and reservations. The course’s first and second toppers are awarded cash prizes and trophies for their achievement during the college annual day and student’s welfare functions. Scholarship interviews are also taken by the college for the students in need.

The faculties are listed with their official email ids on the college's official website. There are Assistant Professors, Associate Professors and some Ad-Hoc as well. All teachers are highly qualified, most of them have done their Ph.Ds. The teachers are really cooperative, friendly and student centric, while adhering to the guidelines of one’s standard academic performance. They not only teach from books and take regular tests and assessments. They really know how to the motivate students to perform better by molding the environment in a conducive discussion forum, sharing personal experiences and tips on success and life lessons. From 2022, the NEP implementation has been inculcated in the DU providing SEC, VAC and AEC courses. Some teachers try to just complete the syllabus and without giving the purpose and main preface about how it should help in our daily life. This needs some improvement. Otherwise the teachers help in academics all the way.

The Placement Cell of our college, Ignite is highly competitive and active. There's a dedicated student portal called POD, in which all internships and placement opportunities are listed. Interview preparation materials are also uploaded on regular basis. The team is very cooperative and always resolves to sorting students problems and queries. Top companies include EY, BCG, Bain & Co., SBI and TCS have placement recruitment drives from our college. Companies like Noise, Fern & Petals, Boat, TOI and Snapdeal provide internship opportunities that are list on the POD. Also this year, the Alumni Cell has been initiated for placement and career guidance as well as discussion forums. The Annual Online Internship Fair, Anubhava also takes place every year at PAN India level, where students across all colleges and universities can apply to internships. So, the overall placement scenario is quite decent as numerous internship opportunities really enhance one's experience and growth. But one needs to be proactive in their career and cannot rely fully on college placements.

There's a girl’s hostel which is operational from the last 10 years or more. There are three floors with around 10 rooms in each floor, having triple sharing rooms. It is just located at the end of the ground; besides the Gurudwara Sahib Ji and the college main buildings are just 5-6 min away. Breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner are provided. If you have to come to college early in the morning before the breakfast time or miss lunch due to class or any other schedule, you can just inform the warden to keep aside your meal so you can come late to have it. Regular glass of milk is provided but you have to pay for this. The rooms are quite old but renovation will start once notices are circulated. Everyday there's a different menu of food which is almost fixed like chole bhature on Wednesday, aalu ke parathe on Thursday etc. Laundry facilities are there. The annual charge of the girl's hostel is around 1.5 lakhs which is deposited semester wise. No electric equipment is allowed to be kept in the rooms. Some hostellers say that wardens are quite strict. This year the boy’s college has been completed. The boy's hostel is literally the most iconic building in whole college, its looks like a royal palace. Most probably it'll start operating this July-August. Its fees are yet to be disclosed by the college authorities.

The main attraction of this college is its sports ground and auditoriums. It's one of the largest and biggest of the whole DU campuses. We also have a tennis court, but it's mostly closed. If I talk about classes, each class has an AC, but sometimes they're not operational. Various political units are there in the college for better college operations. There's one lift, but it is used by the faculty and special students. Each class has a projector for presentations to provide better academic learning. The water quality is sometimes reported to be not of good quality. Water timings for the washrooms are sometimes reported to be irregular. Our library has a collection of a great number of books of various genres. The library has a proper system for issuing books. There are two spacious reading rooms with ACs. The second AC hasn’t worked for the past 3 months. The most loved part of our college is the Gurudwara Sahib Ji. The library is on top of the Gurudwara Sahib Ji. Various occasions are celebrated there and langar also happens on special occasions and days. There's a distinguished block specifically for the Science stream called the Science block. It has 4 floors, one for Botany, Zoology, Physics and Chemistry with individual labs and classroom. The Arts and Commerce students have been allocated to the main building's ground, first and second floor. There are two computer labs for student with comfortable chairs, projectors and white board. There's one seminar hall for events and competitions.

The crowd consists of people from various religions. Thus, one can build strong interpersonal relationships. The college societies are literally the most important part of the college life as it makes you a better version of yourself and grow beyond academics. Some of our prominent societies include the Commerce society, Finance and Investment club, the High Finance society, the Social Entrepreneurship societies - CDF, Enactus, Debate and Discussion society, Confero - MUN society, Khalsa Consulting Group, Music society, Dance society, the Divinity society, Bhangra Folk Dance society, Film Making society and the Theatre society. Various inter-college and national events are held by these societies. Jannat, the central part of the college is known for its ambience and creating great memories where friend circles gather and do stuff. The Nescafe and college canteen are great areas for chilling and roaming with friends. The college is very close to the Hudson Lane, Kamla Nagar where lots of people enjoy. Our annual fest, Lashkara takes place in the month of March-April. All college societies do their events, competition during the fest. A singer concert is held in the evening, this is the main soul of the fest. Overall, the college campus life is great and with whatever college you get, make the best of it.
