NIT Agartala overview

Overall Rating
I choose this college because of the campus, infrastructure, and placement. Its placements are decent as compared to other northeast NITs. The institute is good but the language barrier is bit of an issue according to me and also the 50% home states quota is bit of a drawback according to me.
 

Academics Rating
I’m doing Chemical Engineering from NIT Agartala. The entry requirements are JEE source and I got chemical engineering in my CSAB round. Let me clear the myth first that chemical engineering is not about just chemistry. Chemistry is 10% part of it and it mainly focuses on thermodynamics, heat transfer, mass transfer, etc. If you are interested in these subjects and fascinated then you should choose this branch. And also the chemical engineering is a core branch so you can expect many packages.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculties are mostly home state and they are bit kind of partial towards home state in my point of view. They sometimes talk to them in Bengali. The teachers are average according to me some are extremely good and knowledgeable. Some of teachers are NIT Agartala pass outs so they are bit average. Teaching style differs from teachers to teachers.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, we have a placement cell. Yes, it helps the students to acquire job in the industry. Companies like Reliance, Trident, Phonepe, Google, etc. come for placement drive in our college. The CSE, ECE, and EE branches secure about 10-12 LPA average and core branches like chemical mechanical offer 6-7 LPA average.
 

Hostel Rating
The hostel for boys are like paradise they also call it hotel sometimes equipped with good food, lifts, single rooms, etc. But for girls it’s like a bit of strict. I’m a 4th year student and I got single room in 4th year whereas boys got single room in their 3rd year. Girls also have an in-time of 7:30 and they are not allowed to roam in campus after that. The mess food is average. Boys’ mess offers 5 options, but girls’ mess has 1.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus is beautiful no doubt. The academic block, library, and complex have the most beautiful building. The sports complex is the largest complex in all the NITs. It has basketball court, football ground, badminton court, gym (for boys), basketball court, and swimming court. Hence the complex is so beautiful and also the library is pretty good with all books of respective branches. The canteens are average.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is good but the weather is something I don’t like personally because the humidity is unbearable for me. The rainy weather is good. The crowd is average. The clubs are good like fine arts, E-cell, ebaja , aveg , malhar, etc. You can take part in any of it. You can also become a president or vice president of respective clubs which will be good for resume in the future. The fests are decent.

    The exposure of the Institute is quite appreciable. It has various clubs for the upliftment of the student. Since it is a Institute of national importance so students come from almost every corner of the country and one gets an opportunity to learn something from every culture of India.     Overall Rating
    NIT-A is one of the top NITs in North-East India. It is situated in Agartala, which is the capital of Tripura state. I have joined it in 2024 through JoSAA. Until now, my experience with this institute is great. Apart from studies, you get a good exposure of clubs, sports and of course the beauty of nature.
