NIT-A is one of the top NITs in North-East India. It is situated in Agartala, which is the capital of Tripura state. I have joined it in 2024 through JoSAA. Until now, my experience with this institute is great. Apart from studies, you get a good exposure of clubs, sports and of course the beauty of nature. There are various facilities available for students like hospital, food court and a shopping complex. Overall, it is a good Institute.

NIT Agartala accepts students through JoSAA and CSAB, which takes place after JEE Main exam. You must have at least 75% in your class 12th There are total 9 branches, which offer 4-year Undergraduate program, 2 Dual degrees B.Tech program, and 3 Dual degree BSMS course. I joined in Computer Science & Engineering branch because coding environment here is great and I can improve your coding skills, which will benefit me during placement. Core branches like Civil, Mechanical, and Production Engineering are also very good. Apart from good placement, you can prepare for competitive exams like UPSC and GATE.

Faculty is also very nice. All have done their PhD from IITs and foreign Universities. Although you may face difficulty in understanding, what they teach in class but this is case only for few faculties. There are 6 professors who were listed in top 2% scientist globally by Stanford University, USA. They are available for your doubts during institute hours. Although, the faculty here give lot of assignments on a regular basis.

The placement of NIT Agartala is good compared to other NITs and IIITs. We do have a Training and Placement Cell in our institute that help students to get jobs amongst the best companies during placement season. Top Companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and Texas Instruments come to hire students for various positions. From 3rd year onwards, there are many companies that offer internship to students.

The hostel facilities is top-notch. We have 5 boy’s hostels and 1 girl’s hostel. In first year and second year, you will get double occupancy room. Wi-Fi facilities is also available. Mess facilities is also available for both veg and non-veg but food is not good sometimes. There is a football and cricket ground for 1st year students in hostel.

The infrastructure is one thing that is one of the best things among all NITs. We have separate building for every department with laboratory and a central library. There is a hospital and a 24×7 ambulance service for students. There is a sports complex named ABV sports complex, which is one of the biggest Sports complex compared to other NITs. We also have a big auditorium where many events and programs happen from time to time.

Campus life of NIT Agartala is good, if you are looking to enjoy and explore various opportunities along with your academic life. Although it very far away from mainland India, you will not miss your home as you will always be surrounded by students from various states. There are students from every part of country this will give you exposure to rich diversity of NIT Agartala. Different programs are organized by various clubs, which will keep you to be engaged in extracurricular activities. Fest and Dj Nights will give you a lifelong memory. Therefore, if you come in this institute then you will get an overall package of great campus Life.
