NIT Agartala Admissions: JEE Main Cut-off Trends

The exposure of the Institute is quite appreciable. It has various clubs for the upliftment of the student. Since it is a Institute of national importance so students come from almost every corner of the country and one gets an opportunity to learn something from every culture of India. The Institute is spread in 367 acres of land but the Institute buildings are only limited to 77 acres and almost every building is very far from each other which becomes very bad to go from one to another. There is no good canteen and a place to chill in the Institute campus and its located in the outskirts of the city. Here the professors are not that good and supportive. Mostly Ph.D scholars teach in the class. There is lack of professors in the Institute.

Overall the Institute is descent. Admission in this Institute is based on JEE MAIN. The closing for lowest branch in this Institute is around 60,000 rank in JEE MAIN. I prepared for JEE MAIN by my own. It is an Institute of good exposure. The Institute is lush green and very big but it has a bad aspect that there is good canteen or place to hangout in the campus. Everywhere it is like forest. Food provided is not good in first year but it gets quite better from second year.

Fees here in NIT Agartala is Rs. 62,500 (tuition fees) per semester and including other fees it goes around Rs. 82,000 per semester. The fee waivers are given by government of India that is 100% fee waiver to SC and ST students and among General and OBC students the students who have family income less than 1 lakh per annum gets 100% tuition fee waiver and the students who have family income between 1 to 5 lakh gets 2/3rd waiver of tuition fee.

Since this is located in north eastern region of India. Majorly tribe's are present here. Faculties here are not that good because here comes the language barrier. Faculties come in the class. They teach the topics. Some faculty members here are Ph.D holders. In my opinion the teaching style could be improved and the number of teachers can also be improvised.

Since I'm in first year. I have not got an internship until now. The internship offered here are well and good. A student can get an internship either at end of 2nd year or in 3rd year. Some of the companies which offer internship here are Tata Motors, Qualcom, etc. Job placements are very good in NIT AGARTALA. Almost 95% students get on campus placements here. Criteria for getting eligible for getting a placement is having at least 8 CGPA. Companies like Samsung, Microsoft, TCS, Infosys, etc. come here to offer placements to the students. Highest package offered last year was 52 lakh per annum and the average was around 11 lakh per annum.

In NIT AGARTALA, hostel for first year students is best in terms of any other NIT but from second year it is worse. The rooms of the hostel of second year are average. For first years it is the best undoubtedly. Now the mess, the mess food is not according to everyone’s taste buds so the taste review can differ for all. From second year onwards the food provided is quite good as related to first year. The mess gets divided according to different regions of India like north, south, etc. Hostel rooms are allotted online during the admission. Every boy gets hostel here but there is quite problem for home state girls due to unavailability of rooms in girls hostel. The hostel and mess fees is about Rs. 66,000 per year.

The infrastructure of the Institute is nice. In my opinion the slight changes required can be improved.

Here Institute life is quite fascinating. Two fests are held here, one cultural fest named MOKSHA in April most probably and the other tech fest named AAYAM. It has a huge library with availability of almost every type of book. In the campus there is a sports complex with an area for every sport like basketball, badminton, swimming, football, cricket, etc. There are several clubs in the Institute like club for singing, dancing, drama, coding, and further more.
