NIT Agartala Admissions: JEE Mains and Counseling Process

This is one of the most prestigious Institutes in North-Eastern India and is one of the Institutes of National importance. The faculty is highly qualified and provides quality education. Education price is also affordable. As it is one of the best NIT’s, it itself has an uniqueness in its nature.

I am an undergraduate student of the Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering department of the Institute. I am a keen, encouraged and interested learner of electronics which drives my passion for future endeavors. Therefore, this course serves the perfect field as per my area of interest. It involves the core electronics sector. Students can get admission in this Institute through JEE Main exam, upon securing a suitable rank above the cut-off and going through the counseling. Once the candidate gets a seat through the counseling platforms like JOSAA or CSAB, they are instructed to report to the Institute for further process. In one semester, two exams are held, called the mid-semester and the end-semester exams. The course curriculum is highly relevant to real life industry based applications.

The total fees for one academic semester goes around Rs.70,000. (Excluding hostel and mess charges) Tuition fee is somewhat Rs.65,000 and other miscellaneous fees consist of Rs.5,000. SC/ST categories get their entire tuition fee reimbursed. Students can avail different government and non-government scholarships like the Ishan Uday merit scholarship (Rs.80,000 per year) and NEC merit scholarship (Rs.22,000 per year). There is a dedicated scholarship section inside the campus which helps students to apply for and enquire about these.

Most of the faculties are highly talented and are Ph.D degree holders from top Institutions of the country. They have expertise in their particular field and provide well-versed and quality education. The faculty members are from the respective departmental background and have high technical and educational excellence. Teachings vary from teacher to teacher. Some prefer black boards, while others provide digital education in the form of PPT, discussions, etc. There are teachers who have mixed choices as well. The faculties are capable of solving any problem that arises during the academic course. The teacher student ratio of the Institution is 1:50. The faculty members are highly approachable and individual doubt clearing sessions are encouraged.

There is an active placement cell in the Institute which is responsible for the on-campus placements of students. The placement cell brings various companies to hire students from the Institute. Guest lecturer counseling sessions are conducted. Top recruiters include- Microsoft, Google, Texas Instruments, HPCL, BPCL, TATA companies, Reliance, Oracle, Phonepe, Paypal, etc. Highest package- 52 LPA and the Average package is 13 LPA.

The Institute has 2 boy’s hostels and 1 girl’s hostel. There are more than 3,000 rooms in total and the washrooms are clean. The rooms are furnished with proper interior. Girl’s and boy’s hostels are separate. The mess food is of acceptable quality and there are 3 major meals and evening snacks in a day. Per semester hostel fees- Rs. 22,500. Hostel experience at NITA is the most exciting part of a student's life.

Each department has got their respective buildings, classrooms and labs. Besides this there is also an administrative block, hospital, library, shopping complex, sports complex, and faculty residence quarters inside the complex. The campus is somewhat around 365 acres big and the locality is friendly and full of greenery. Fully furnished classroom with 80+ seating capacity. Each classroom has smart class facilities. There are numerous food and stationary kiosks all over the campus. A dedicated hospital, sports complex, shopping complex, auditorium, and seminar halls in each department is present. The campus is fully secured by both CCTV and manual security. Everybody can visit the campus without a check. Transportation facility to the city is easily available. There are to and fro facilities available in the city for the same. Fully equipped labs and research facilities are an added advantage.

The overall campus life is worth living for. It provides a unique and unforgettable memory for lifetime. This Institution not only makes a good engineer out of you but also adds a flavor to life. The total population of the campus is around 5,000 students. There are numerous clubs like Aero club, robotics club, E-baja and M-baja clubs, dance club, music club, drama club are the most common ones. They also have much recognition for their excellent performance. Lectures by distinguished personnel are common events inside the campus. Various festivals are also celebrated with full enthusiasm. There are two annual fests of the Institution. One is the cultural fest "MOKSHA" and the other is the tech fest "AAYAM". The campus life provides perfect conditions for budding engineers and gives a good opportunity to excel in respective fields of interest.
