NIT Jamshedpur is an Institution lying in the lap of nature with a lush green campus. The campus is not so vibrant but good enough to keep you engaged throughout the year. Tough academics, hectic events and memorable fests together will keep you busy doing the mid of the semesters. City life is actually dull, so most of the time you will be going to find yourself hanging around at random places in the campus. Now coming to the reason I joined this college, it has very impressive placement statistics and the prestigious NIT tag follows along. So, overall if you wish to come out strong and be a person with clarity on what you wish to do, this is just the right place. You will be having opportunity to do some work in every domain.

Course Details for B.Tech Duration- 4 years, Branches available- Computer Science Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production, Industrial Engineering, Metallurgy & Materials Engineering, Engineering in Computational Mechanics. Entry requirements- A good rank in JEE Mains, conducted by NTA in January and April. Eligibility- 75% aggregate marks in 12th grade. Motive to enroll should only be if you are resilient enough to learn something out of it, the curriculum is quite tough.

Faculty members teaching the courses here are very serious about the academics, and they will be the ones controlling everything about your grades. They are well qualified professionals with years of experience along with great teaching skills and knowledge of their subjects. The style of teaching depends from one professor to another. Some prefer the traditional methods and others don't. It is all about the concentration one puts in class when the faculty is teaching.

The institution boasts of its Training and Placement Cell. The body ensures that everyone on the campus has their best shot at the placements. It consists of professors and student coordinators from each department who work together to ensure good chunk of internships and placements. It is because of the placements only that many students join the college for. It boasts of one of the top placement rates in the country with more than 95% placement. The average amount is around 16 LPA. It is due to this very reason that candidates prefer this Institute.

Hostels are provided to everyone and are mandatory for the undergraduate students. The rooms are small but enough to be comfortable. Facilities include mess which is quite average though. For boys, they will be having a double sharing room in the freshmen year, and will be provided with single occupancy rooms from sophomore year. Girls get double or triple sharing rooms throughout their UG journey. Hostel infrastructure is good and leisure activities are provided on small scale.

The campus has an average infrastructure. It has a New Academic building which goes by the name DJLHC which is huge enough to support all the lectures of every year. Apart from this the college has an Old Academic building where the administrative works takes place. It has classrooms which were earlier used for lectures but now are utilized by various clubs for their activities. Apart from this the campus has a central library and 14 hostels. It has department building for each department where most of the labs are situated and the research work takes place.

Overall campus life is average. The last entry timings for hostel are 10.30 pm and 9 pm for boys and girls respectively. The college looks deserted after 9 pm. However the leisure zone is the flooding area where you can chill with the crowd. People love to take long walks amidst the tress as the campus is quite green and pleasant during night. In terms of clubs and societies there are numerous of them ranging from debate Society, Quiz Society Clubs for F3 cars, Animatronics, Drift Cars, Off reading cars, music, dance, drama, Fashion, social clubs like NSS, UBA, Sankalp and many more. There are 3 major fests which take place, sports fest URJA which is held in October. Then the Cultural Fest, CULFEST held in January followed by the Techno Management Fest, Ojass that takes place in march. Apart from this numerous activities keep going on throughout the year.
